Swelling ankles and feet!
I'm a week shy of 5 months and I noticed this past weekend my ankles and feet have begun to swell! Is this weird this early? What did everyone do to work through it and keep the swelling down? I'm really nervous for summer as I work full time and I'm always on my feet! :(
On a positive note; i went to the dr today and I have a VERY active 8 ounce little girl! Boy does she move a lot ! :)

Remember to take off your wedding rings and don't put them back on till you're a mommy!

Being a new pregnancy fitness educator and childbirth educator I will tell you a few different things you can do to reduce the swelling... you can try and do some lower leg, ankle, and foot stretches and movements. This will help improve the circulation and any cramps you might feel as well as reduce the swelling due to fluid retention. You can try some: 1. toe and heel raises 2. ankle circles 3. point and flex your foot
* During pregnancy you should really try to avoid sitting with your legs crossed while sitting in a chair and couch. You sholud always sit with you feet flat on the floor to ensure reduced fluid retention in the lower extremities.
Thank you!!! :)

Swelling ankles and feet!
My ankles and feet started swelling at about 5-6months. I sit at a desk most of the day at work and this is when it happens the most. Try to elevate your feet and drink alot of water.

This may just be how your body reacts to pregnancy. I started swelling at 20 weeks in both my pregnancies. That's just how my body works. It sucks and it only gets worse as the pregnancy progresses, unfortunately. Good luck to you and congrats on your girl!

Re: Swelling ankles and feet!
With my DD I was due in Sept. Right around June when it started getting hot and humid, the 6 month mark for me, my feet and ankles started to swell. Keep your feet elevated when you can and drink a lot of water.
Unfortunately, by August I no longer had ankles and had meatballs for feet, lol, but once the baby was born all the swelling went away. Hang in there, it's not easy being pregnant in the summer months.

Thanks for this.
I too had to stop wearing my rings yesterday. I'm 26 weeks.
At my last doc visit 2 weeks ago he quickly looked at my ankles to make sure things were ok. I think he'll be doing this at every appointment.
