Swine flu questions???
Can you receive the swine flu shot while BFing??? Will anything be passed through mothers milk and if so would that be helping baby to fight swine flu?
I wasn't planning on vaccinating myself or my 4yo, but the owner of my schools Dr just placed her in the "high risk"category....not because of the risks of her catching it...but the risks of her passing it onto the children in the school...
I have a 4 month old who can't receive the vaccine and Im sooo scared that I (or we) will bring it home to him...
Im soooo torn...

I have been unable to find a swine flu vaccine, but I did receive a seasonal flu shot. I am currently BFing my younger DD (11 months), but I also got the seasonal flu shot last year when she was born and BF her then. Come to think of it I also got the flu vaccine when my firstborn was 4 months old and I was BFing her.
The swine flu vaccine is exactly like the seasonal flu vaccine- but with a different strain. Had the swine flu outbreak occurred last year just a few months earlier, then the H1N1 would have been included in this year's seasonal flu shot.

Does getting the shot while BFing pass on any immunities to the baby?
