switching insurance during pregnancy?
Im planning on switching my insurance over to my DH's because come Jan 1st mine is going up and they are changing it a lot and im just not down with it. So my question is will the new insurance company give me a problem since I am already 30 weeks pregnant? Has anyone done this before or work for an insurance company? TIA

I did this in July when I was about 17-18ish weeks. They didn't give me a hard time, but it got a little complicated at one point bc my doctor's billing depts kept trying to bill my old insurance compant which kept kicking it back. It was a huge headache and took many phone calls to both insurance companies, but that was the extent of it. You shouldn't have any problems!

This is funny you ask because I am planning on doing the same thing- switching to my hubby's insurance. He gets better pregnancy coverage. I hope you get some responses because this would help me as well.

Hahaha, seems like a theme. I was wondering about this as well! My job gave us a huge hike in out of pocket cost, so they are trying to avoid that while keeping up the benefits that we have, even if it comes to switching insurance companies (again). DH's insurance isn't as good as mine, so I won't be switching to his.

Thanks for letting me know!!  I can see how that could get confusing but when I called my Dr. I talked to the insurance girl and she was like just tell me all the new info and that way I know how to separate the billing and bill the right company. So hopefully it will be an easy transition. We'll see

I switched at 20 weeks because DH got a new job. I didn't have any problems. My drs office got the billing correct.
