Re: Swollen Tastebuds
Pull it off? Seriously? No, you can't really mean that? Does pulling it off not make it hurt more? Then instead of a swollen bud will it get all scabby and crap?
PLEASSEEEE someone out there HAS to have another solution to this.

Re: Swollen Tastebuds
I definitely just pull them off. Never used tweezers, I just do it with my finger nails. Tweezers would be better, because I usually inadvertently miss and start yanking on my toungue which results in more buds getting swollen. Then I have to yank like 4 or 5 off!
I never thought about icing it before either. Does that make it easier to grab, or is that to numb it?

Re: Swollen Tastebuds
Okay maybe we aren't talking about the same thing but all I know is I have never ever tweezed or yanked something off my tongue so maybe I've never really had a swollen tastebud. BUT whatever it is that I have gotten goes away on it's own after a day or two.
Do you think you can wait it out Deb or does it hurt alot?

It hurts and its right on the tip so it smacks into my teeth whenever I talk...think that I can use ambesal (SP???!!) and numb it until it goes away?

Re: Swollen Tastebuds
This is quite possibly the most sadistic thread in LIF history! Deb - in all seriousness, take some listerine (or a strong mouthwash) and hold it in your mouth over that area for at least 15 seconds. It'll numb it and the alcohol will shrink it. If it still hurts use oragel. Feel better!

Come ON- just pull it off. It's like tweezing your eyebrows. One swift pull!
if its in the right spot- you can bite it off too!
yeppers, I do the same!
