Table Food for Constipated Baby
My almost-10-month-old DD has had constipation issues since starting solids at 6 months. I'm getting anxiety reading about what babies her age are eating...I'm afraid to experiment with different foods with her because it almost always winds up constipating her . For example, I gave her yogurt last week. She LOVED it, but was constipated and miserable for a week after. Same deal with steamed carrots. I'm afraid she's going to have trouble chewing if I keep giving her purees and cereal.
So, my question is, if your LO has had constipation issues in the past, what table foods did/do you give them? (P.S.- She HATES eggs & avocado.) TIA!

Re: Table Food for Constipated Baby
Foods high in fiber should help- winter squash, pears, peaches, etc You could also add 1 oz of water to her bottles 2x a day

Re: Table Food for Constipated Baby
stage 1 prunes alone or mixed in with other fruits always worked like a charm for DS

Table Food for Constipated Baby
pears, peaches and melon like honeydew or watermelon usually help. i used to make a puree ( i did all of my own baby foods) that i called poop juice - it was pears and peaches and sometimes id throw a prune in there if i had soft ones. it always worked. be careful with prunes sometimes they work TOO well! good luck! also, limit apples, dairy, rice, carrots, spinach, pumpkin until the poop is normal again.. those items always made DD constipated.
