When did your baby start eating table food vs baby food? Did you puree your own baby food?

We are going to start offering solids to DS this week. I don't know if I should invest in the popular baeba? baby food processor thing from williams and sonoma. I don't want to spend $150 for something I won't be using for very long.

It looks like we are on the same page right about now.....I am posting very similar questions. I just purchased a food processor from BRU tonight that cost $36.00. When I got home and peeked in my food pantry for something, I noticed a brand new Magic Bullet set that I never even opened. It dawned on me that I can you that to puree my own baby food....looks like I'll be returning something to BRU this weekend...lol.

I used our blender in the beginning, then, transitioned to using the food processor. If you have these items then you do not need the baeba.
DD ate pureed food until about 11/12 mos then we started transitioning to table food.

Yes, it looks like we are on the exact same page. I don't know if it is worth buying the expensive food processor. I am leaning towards buying the more simple kidco one. i think it is more like $30.

IMHO, a regular food processor is sufficient. There is NO need to spend money on a food processor "designed" to make baby food.

Yes, the BRU in Massapequa has one Kidco left as of tonight! I think it was $29.99.

ITA. We use our Cuisinart. The only thing we bought was a food mill, which works better with certain food like potatoes.

Jacob is 9.5 months and he is eating a mix of finger foods and pureed food. We use a Cuisinart mini-prep food processor that we've had for years.

Ditto, we have a mini prep Cuisinart and works great. I think it was a number one pick in Parent's Magazine for the inexpensive. I would get this then the baby one, b/c you could use it for yourself when you are don't with baby food.
