Table Foods - Question for Moms of 12 months and older

DD will be one on March 31st.

She still eats alot of baby food, mostly stage 2's. She has some table foods but still likes the baby food.

dont worry, DD ate babyfood till about 14 or 15 mths, she took awhile to get used to the different textures of table foods. Just go smlowly and give DC baby food but then offer a little bit of a few different table foods to try as wel...

DS will be 1 April 1st. He hasn't eaten baby food since he was about 10 months or so...he would spit it out at me. He is on all table food now. But every baby is different...if she still eats baby food that is ok, just try introducing more table food a little at a time. When she is ready, she'll let you know.

Ds will be one next week. I tried some different table foods with him and he didn't like them, spit them out immediately and make faces like I was torturing him.

I'm just going to continue with the stage 3's and introduce things to him slowly.

we skipped baby food. We started giving Kaitee soft table foods at 7 months. By 1 year she would eat almost everything we ate. I just made sure to cut it into small bites.

Re: Table Foods - Question for Moms of 12 months and older

DD is 15 months and we still wind up giving her the 2's fruits & veggies. DH and I are bad when it comes to having a balanced meal for ourselves, so we make it easy and make sure she gets her fruits and veggies from the 2s

Every baby is different. Steven wanted nothing to do with it once he got "real" food. So he was off of it by 9 mos.

DS is 13 months and I finally got him to eat breakfast foods (i.e...waffles, pancakes, french toast, rice krispies, and he LOVES bananas)
However, when it comes to lunch and dinner it's stage 3 or a yogurt (for lunch).
He is not a meat person. Our ped. recommended lentils and beans (I am blank right now as to what type) which will help him get his protein in.

Ive learned to accept the fact that every baby is different and they will accomplish things when they are ready.
Just Keep Trying, that's all you can do.

dd will be 1 on 3/26. She eats a combination of stages2/3's and table food. I started with mashed sweet potatoes, cooked carrots and bananas and now she eats small pieces of chicken, turkey, crackers, green beans and pasta.

have you tried the gerber graduates fruit chunks, turkey stew or mini ravioli? she loved those and they were a good transition.

good luck!

Re: Table Foods - Question for Moms of 12 months and older

Thanks everyone...
I hear from several people that by 12 months they shoud be off baby food but I really do not see how this is possible.

It isn't that she won't eat table food, its just that she eats so little of it. No way could she be full on table food alone.

She likes:
panckaes(2 mini),
french toast(1/2)
yogurt(whole container),
cheese(whole slice),
sometimes eggs but not lately, puffs and things like it,
apples(small slice),
small pieces of chicken and that's it. It is not at all consistant.

She hates mashed potatoes!!!

Re: Table Foods - Question for Moms of 12 months and older

We were trying to get off of baby food but my DD doesn't eat enough so at 17 months we are still doing some baby food daily. It's the only way for me to ensure that she gets all of the proper nutrition.....as much as it drives me crazy.Chat Icon I mean, she has 12 teeth so chewing shouldn't be a problem. I haven't exactly figured out what's going on with DD in the food department.Chat Icon

But, no, it's not a problem for a baby to still have baby food after 12 months.

Off baby food at 10.5 months with the exception of meat. Meats they started to really enjoy around 12-13 months.
