Taekwondo belt test? Fee... Is this normal
My DD goes to after care at a taekwondo place.
As part of the price they get to take a class each day.
She is up for getting her first belt and I just found out its $60... Is this normal?
I assume I will have to do this every time she goes up a belt!?
I wasn't looking for her to take taekwondo the after care program just worked out for me so I never looked into these classes and all the fees that occur so I don't know if this is normal, a high price etc.

Our dojo charges $30 for new belts .

Yes, my son's belt and test was an additional fee of $50

$30 is better than $60... I have been shelling out so much money this month (for various things not related to taekwondo) that I am not thrilled to be paying $60 and to not even know about it till now the day of the test

My son takes karate and pays $25 each time he takes a belt test.

Same i was told by a parent its for the certificate from Korea
Poom and black are very $$
Competitions too

Total money grab, so annoying. Yes we pay $40 and when they get up to higher rank belts (brown) it is $60.

Wow! I had no idea they charged. My son takes gracie barra jujitsu and there are no belt tests he earns stripes then belt as he performs over time. It takes much longer to change belts about a year.
