Don't have it but I'm asking my MIL or SIL to get it. This year the family wants a list so I'm making a short wish list for the girls and this will be on it.Chat Icon

Re: Tag junior

I have the Tag Jr. and the Tag.

DD is going to be 3 and I feel she's too old for the Tag Jr.

I feel the book selection is much better for the Tag and I felt the Tag Jr. is so bulky that when it is on a word - you can't see what word it is on, if that makes sense, where the Tag pen...is a lot more sleek and she knows exactly what she is pointing the pen on.

I think they both are enjoyable, just as far as learning I feel the Tag is better for that. HTH!

Re: Tag junior

I'd like to know too. I was planning on getting it for DS who will be 18 months for Christmas. Will he be too young? Should I wait until his birthday in June?

I would totally exchange. I played with both of them in the store. The junior is big and bulky and reads the whole page if touched with the bulky pen. With the thin tag it does it word by word. I see better use out of this for the next yr or two. Plus as someone mentioned there are def ALOT more books for it.

I think he'll like it. DS has been using the Tag Jr since right before he turned 2 & he loves it.

You can get the Tag at Target for $8.99. There is a printable Leap Frog manuf. coupon for $10 and a printable Target coupon for $10. You can use both.

Re: Tag junior

Our EI coordinator is so against it.

I am sure it must help some kids...but once DH heard EI wasn't for them, he feels they are a no go for us.

Re: Tag junior

Don't know anything about the Tag Junior but, DS has the Tag (he is 26 months) - he got it as a gift a while ago and he loves it. I do find he learned a lot from it - especially initially. I wish they had more of a book selection!

What is the reason they are against it? DS got this as a gift (the regular Tag not the Junior) when he was about 18 months (ridiculous I know since it is for 4 year olds) but, he learned so much from pointing at the objects with the pen and hearing the pen name what it is - some of the books have the alphabet and the numbers too - it's GREAT for restaurants and parties b/c it keeps him busy and he learns - I can't imagine why they would be agaisnt it? Except maybe for older kids do they feel like the old style learning to read is better?
