I worked on a trading floor (stock brokerage). I worked with mostly men and the majority of the men would take a newspaper in the bathroom.

I don't do it. And in all of my years working, I've only witnesses one woman doing it.
But my thoughtful and considerate DH takes all our magazines in to work with him when we're finished reading them. He stacks them up on a filing cabinet, and whoever wants them, takes them. I would hope that they have a No-Return policy though!
(This includes my InStyle, Glamour, Good Housekeeping and Shape magazines.)

Then men at my office do the same thing except they say "BE BACK IN A FEW MINUTES" waving the paper  dont people think thats gross?!?!?

Some guys might see it as a mini-"break".....like those people that don't take smoking breaks can take "potty" breaks.

A few years ago a higher up came over to me and saw I had the new crutchfield magazine on my desk. He asked if he could borrow it, so I said sure. Well about 2 minutes later I was walking to go down stairs to get some coffee...and out of the mens room comes this man and my crutchfield magazine. I was like *** to myself of course. He walked by me and said hello like it was no big deal as to what he just did.
I got back to my desk to find the crutchfield magazine sitting there....I took a few sheets of paper towel and with the towel grabbed the magazine and threw it in the trash....Then I bleached my desk in that spot......
I see people take newspapers, magazines, work and other things into the bathroom all the time at work. It is bizarre......One time I walked into the bathroom to hear someone on his phone talking in one of the stalls, while doing his business yuk
