Taking the next step to the OB/GYN , DH and his issues sorry if TMI, but need some answers from anyone else going thru this.....
After not using BC for 3 years, but not being totally serious about TTC, until recently, I made an appotinment to see my OB/GYN. I am switching doctors in the practice because I had a bad bad bad experience with another doctor there. I was told the one I am switching to is compasionate and nice and a good bedside manner and delivers babies. I am so confused on when to BD , and I think my DH is having some "issues", down below. He is going to a urologist on 4/24. He is mortified and would be even more mortified if I shared what is going on with him, but I am going to to see if anyone elses DH has this problem, and what was done to fix it, and how would I look up something like that online but when he does his business it just dribbles out, so we think that could be causing me not to get a BFP. I have a regular 26-28 day cycle like clockwork. What will my doctor discuss with me at the office? I am so nervous. I am also relieved to to finally get the show on the rode so to speak.... PS I was told I would not need a internal exam becuase I had one within the year. Sorry if TMI , I am so embarassed to be posting this.
PS Not sure what bd to post this on.
ETA DH has been on Vasotec for 13 years.... scroll down to see what I found on internet.....

I'll try to answer
WRT to DH and the "dribbling" - its sounds similar to us in a little way - I know we have slight male factor issues (thats what I've been told) but DH's volume is low, and his motility (ability of spermies to swim up to meet the egg) is lowish, as is his norphology (shape of the sprem - they are supposed to swim straight, and many of his do not) Sorry if I'm assuming you know nothing
The urulogist is the best place to start, and IMO, mlae factor is one of the easier IF issues to resolve
What age are you ?
as for BDing - if you are on a regular cycle, you should BD 14 days before hte end of the cycle which is when you ovulate.
hope this helps

artificial insemination is generally a starting point - you'll take Clomid to stimulate more eggs, and then DH donates a sample, which is washed to jsut have sperm. The dr will place the sperm in the uterus when you ovulate, and hopefully a sperm will meet an egg and you'll all live happily ever after
Thats the least invasive way . There is also IVF, but depending on the results of your testing and his, the drs will decide which way to go

Thank you for being so prompt on my questions. I am having a panic attack just going to a doctor. I am not a docotr person at all. I was convinced I was going to need surgery or I would never have a baby. I never even had bloodtaken from my arm, or if I did, I never remembered it. Thank you for trying to answer some questions for me, you made me feel better.

Taking Control of Your Fertility is a great book to explain how all of this stuff works inside of you..I could not believe the stuff I didn't know. It can help you learn about charting and when to BD. Of course if you have medical issues, it cannot overcome those but it is a great place to start to understand TTC.

Did I read this right? I CANNOT believe that a doctor would even prescribe this!!!!!!!!!

I don't think that "may interfere with the ability of the sperm to bind to and fertilize the egg" is reason enough for doctors to shy away from a drug. This is also why people should tell their doctors if they are TTC and ask about alternatives.

First of all: I am very glad you're going to the doctor to find out if there are any issues! Sometimes it is something that clicks immediately, other times not. The medication he's on doesn't sound like it's the best for your situation and you should talk with your doctor about any medications you both use.
As for the 'dribbling', my DH does that as well and I was very concerned at conceiving. We found out that he's fine, but it was my problem because I wasn't even ovulating. So many little things to think about that it's best to be honest with your doctor about even the smallest of things. I mentioned something I thought was insignificant, but I was getting tired of the same old crap. Turned out, I mentioned the right thing and they figured out what was going on! Good luck at the doctor!!

It is a Blood Pressure Drug, and if someone isn't TTC and if it's not discussed with the doctor when the drug is prescribed, then the doc would really have no reason not to prescribe the drug. Having high blood pressure every day poses a lot of risks as well.
My DH is on Enalapril and I thank you for posting this because we aren't TTC right now but want to in about a year, and have been researching a lot of the meds that my DH is on for nerve pain from Guillian Barre Syndrome that he has, bt never thought to research his blood pressure meds.
Seriously, SOOO many medications have fertility side effects. Many of them require 1-2 sperm cycles to get them out of the guy's system before you start TTC .... one med that my DH just started after being urged to by 3 different doctors has a 4% RISK of birth defects. It is so scary, and so many people take meds without researching them.
I don't mean to crash this board or this post, but I do wish you all the best in TTC and getting through your obsticals.
