Taking the summer off at daycare, so...

should we be getting Riley's teachers a gift? We will be returning in September, possibly August. I doubt she'll be moving up to the next room by then but ya never know.

Would you? Is it really necessary? I wish I had thought of this sooner!!Chat Icon Chat Icon

I don't think it's really necessary but maybe you can just bake some cookies or something.

I think I would, but it would depend on how much you like them, kwim??? Teachers are so so underpaid, oh wait you knew that Chat Icon, so I think even a $15 or $20 DD or Starbucks card would be a nice gesture. I wouldn't go higher than that, she's only out for 8 or 10 weeks!!

Re: Taking the summer off at daycare, so...

This is Samantha's last week in her current room. She's moving to Waddlers next week.

I brought in bagels and spread for the teachers in her room yesterday, rather than gifts. Especially since there is really only two perm teachers in the room and the rest are aides/floaters. I only really know the primary teacher, so I thought bringing breakfast was the most appropriate thing for my situation.

When I took Samantha out of TLE, I got small gift baskets/bags from Bath and Body Works for the teachers in her room (they were like 10 bucks each)

Last year when we pulled Chelsea out for the summer we got her teachers gifts. I knew she was moving up to the next room and wouldn't be back. This year we are keeping her in part time so no gifts.

Thing is, it's really about 4 ladies I'd have to buy gifts for. Last time, for teacher appreciation, I got cookies.

Darnit I just made brownies too...but that's for the staff party tomorrow.Chat Icon

Hmmm I like the bagels idea...thanks Mich!Chat Icon Or maybe I can make a crumb cake or something...if I have any TIME!Chat Icon
