I would make a baseball cake.
I'll bet you could get cheap blow up baseball bats at a party store and maybe some small soft baseballs.
Any kids? You could give baseball caps as favors and maybe the kids could decorate them?
Balloons, maybe some that are a bat and baseball.
I'm trying to think how you could have glove shaped chip bowls.
How about the invitation looks like tickets to a baseballs game.
Have DS wear a baseball outfit with the #1 on it;

I love all the previous ideas....just an FYI, dollar tree has the soft bats/balls (great for favors).

I always do baby ruth choc. bars, big league chewing gum. Cupcakes that look like baseballs. Modells sells Yankee and Mets plates, cups and napkins.

I did that last year. I made a round baseball cake with chocolate pudding inside and I got favors from the dollar store that were baseball themed.
