Talk to me about ADD/ADHD?
If your child has this - how did you know? What signs did you see? How old where they when you figured it out?
Did anyone tell you or did you suspect?
Thank you!

Re: Talk to me about ADD/ADHD?
I unfortunately am going through this now. He is considered at risk. I noticed early on around 15 mo. As he got older I noticed more and more the inability to pay attention, constantly needs to be redirected, very impulsive, occasionally hyper and has a hard time calming himself down. Recently we have been having behavioral issues because of his frustration. He is also language delayed. He has managed to keep up cognitively with his peers in nursery school though I fear as he gets older and the work load and need to concentrate gets more demanding he may begin having issues at school.

Re: Talk to me about ADD/ADHD?
Also wanted to add that auditory processing disorder has MANY of the same signs/symptoms of ADD. They often are misdiagnosed interchangeably. DS is also considered at risk for this being a diagnosis is not clear right now as to whether it is one or the other. Official testing\diagnosis for either isn't made until closer to 6 or 7. To be honest, I am leaning toward ADD with my DS because DH was diagnosed as a child and I know it is hereditary.

Re: Talk to me about ADD/ADHD?
because of having one on the spectrum i am constantly worried about her development. and i have been saying since C was about a year old she has something wrong... ADD/ADHD.
at 19 months old she is finally being evaluated. i havent done the evals yet, but one is scheduled for Sat and waiting for the other.
what i noticed (but then it could be just being typical.. but i dont know because i never had a typical child)
constantly on the go, cannot sit and pay attention for more then 2 min. re-direction doesnt work, behavior issues.
the list goes on, but from what i do know (and someone correct me if i am wrong) is most of the time an ADD/ADHD true diagnosis isnt until they start K
