Talk to me about travel with an infant..

We are planning a trip to our friend's house in Florida (in September or October) but I'm already nervous about traveling with DD!
She'll be 5 or 6 months.
We'll be bringing the stroller, car seat & possibly the PnP.
I don't know if we'll have the regular stroller (lightweight) or the snap & go, depends on her size at the time.
If we use the lightweight stroller, I guess I would gatecheck that, right?
What about the PnP & Carseat- do I check those with our luggage? Will I have to pay a fee? We will be flying Jetblue. I know they sell a travel case for the PnP- should I get that?
We won't be getting a seat for DD, so I can't bring a suitcase for her, right? I'll need to bring her diapers & formula...
Can I pack cans of formula in the luggage? I will probably want to bring at least one (probably 2) bottle on the flight (it's one 2 & 1/2 hours)..how does that work with the liquid restrictions? Does her diaper bag count as my carry-on??
Ugh, I'm already so nervous about this!

TIA!

Don't stress. I have traveled a ton with DS, I even flew with him by myself cross country with a layover!

This is what I brought, my snap and go, and my carseat on the plane. I gate checked both so I could have them as soon as I got off the plane. He was itty bitty then, so when I fly with him now I would probably bring his city mini with me and not the snap and go.

You can pack an extra suit case for DD but you need to pay the fees, so really that is up to you. I would not pack diapers or formula, I would just buy them there because the fees are so high to bring the suitcase.

You can bring formula or breast milk with you, but you do need to have it specially screened.

I recommend feeding her on take off and landing, it is more comfortable for their ears.

The stroller and the carseat can be gate checked for free.

The diaper bag doesn't count towards your carry on allowance.

Each adult with a paid ticket is allowed one free bag on JetBlue. Anything additional is subject to a fee.

A pack n play would either count as your free bag or would have to be paid for.

Can you buy formula and diapers down there? That's what we did on our vacation to make it a bit easier. You are allowed to pack a "reasonable" amount of formula in your baggage. I'm not sure about checking it - it may make the bags so heavy (you do have to pay if the bag weighs more than 50 lbs).

The diaper bag part depends on the provider. It did for me on Southwest. Chat Icon

Ok, so I'd have to pay for the PnP, not too bad. I guess I can buy diapers there, but DD is on elecare, so I have to bring that with me, it's special order and I wouldn't take a chance on not being able to get it. Hmm, maybe I could ship it there (or have my pharmacy ship it for me)?

It is easy to travel with them at that age. It gets harder when they can walk Chat Icon

Totally agree. It was a breeze flying with DS when he was immobile. Now that he is walking, it's a lot more difficult.

You should be able to use the snap n go plus infant car seat at 5-6m.
