Tattoo'd People...?? - updated (in OP) with photo of my idea (kinda)...
does anyone have a tattoo on their ankle or wrist??
ankle ?? - for women - since we shave the ankle region - does that affect the tattoo quality at all??
wrist - was that horribly painful???
any regrets on either region? would you NOT do it again - or would you in a heartbeat?
----------------------UPDATE------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
what do you all think of this? i would do the name all the way around - like an ankle bracelet and do the stars as well - but not down the side - but down the front of the foot.
i would like my daughter's name done in the AMAZE font - and it can go around my ankle 3 times (roughly - her name is Emma). I would like 6 stars coming down the foot. That way - it represents her birth date - 6/3 - without it being in your face with the actual numbers - ya know??
i'm also thinking it will be all black...

Re: Tattoo'd People...??
I have an ankle tattoo. I haven't found that shaving the area has led to a quality issue at all. I actually think less hair grows there now, so I mostly have to shave around it. No regrets. Just be aware of how visible it will be when you wear dresses, etc.

Re: Tattoo'd People...??
does anyone have a tattoo on their ankle or wrist??--Ankle
ankle ?? - for women - since we shave the ankle region - does that affect the tattoo quality at all??--Nope, in fact it may help it as it doesn't get as much sun exposure.
any regrets on either region? would you NOT do it again - or would you in a heartbeat?--No regrets. And yes, I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

Re: Tattoo'd People...??
I have both (inner) wrists tattooed. Wasn't horribly painful at all. I also have one on the inner ankle/leg area and it was only more painful b/c it was bigger and took longer to do than the wrist.

Just remember if you ever NEED or WANT to cover it up, the ankle is much easier. Esp. if it's hot and you don't want to wear long sleeves. If it's not that wide, you may be able to hide the wrist with a bracelet or watch though.

Re: Tattoo'd People...??
I have one on each wrist and one on the top of my foot.
The ones on my wrists are not big and took about 30 minutes for them to do. It didn't really hurt at all but it all depends on the detail of the tattoo and how your veins in your wrist are.
Now, the one on top of my foot hurt! The outline didn't hurt so much but the coloring in part did.

Re: Tattoo'd People...??
i want to have my daughters' name done - just her name, over & over in script...with maybe a star in between each repetition...(her birth date was 6/3 - so i'm thinking either her name 6 times and 3 stars or her name 3 times with 6 stars)...
her name is emma - so it's not a long one!

OMG! yes! The foot is bad! LOL. I was in tears. I'd still do it again though.

to me, it feels more annoying..like someone rubbing sandpaper on an area nonstop, or bee stings.

Re: Tattoo'd People...??
I have both, one on wrist and ankle.
The wrist one hurt more. Definitely tolerable.
It all really depends on your pain threshold
I do not regret any of them and I got the one on my ankle when I was 17 (18 years ago)!

I have a small tattoo on the inside of my right ankle. I've found shaving had not affected it's quality at all.

I have an ankle band tattoo, no problem due to shaving, I love it and it did not hurt too bad, I went above the ankle bone though, directly on or very near bone...BIG OUCH

Re: Tattoo'd People...??
I have a tattoo on my ankle AND both of my wrists are tattooed.
The quality of the one on my ankle is still great (about 8 years later at this point), so I don't think shaving has really changed it at all.
Wrists, hurt a LITTLE bit more than other tattoos I've gotten (I also have one on my hip and one on my lower back), but they weren't exceptionally painful.
I don't have any regrets with either. The only thing to take into consideration is the wrists are a bit more difficult to cover up (if you had to for some reason). I would get all my tats again in a heartbeat though.

Re: Tattoo'd People...??
I have my ankle and wrist done. I have an anklet but I always wear pants to work so that is covered up. I have my son's name on the inside of my wrist and believe it or not most people don't even notice it. I didn't want a bracelet because that would have been harder to cover it up if I wanted to (as in work).

Re: Tattoo'd People...??
I have two ankle tattoos. Shaving does not affect them at all. One is from 1996, the other 1999. I regret the one from 1999 bc it's bigger and it's on the inside of my ankle and I look down and see it all the time. The other one is tiny, on the outside of my ankle and most of the time I forget I have it.

Re: Tattoo'd People...??
i have both places done. i have my inner wrist... it hurt a little when he was further down towards my hand, the further up my arm he went the less it hurt, if that makes sense. my ankle was done in 3 stages. i originally had initials done on my outer ankle, with a vine of rosebuds going around the rest of the ankle. the back of the ankle, and your ankle bone is quite painful i found. i recently had the initials covered up with 2 big roses and then vines of smaller rosebuds added on, going down my foot. i don't regret any of it... not even the initials - because i learned from my mistake and was able to cover it up

Re: Tattoo'd People...??
I have both and actually found the ankle to hurt more than my wrist. Though my wrist design is thinner and smaller than the ankle one, so that may be the reason. I absolutely love my wrist tattoo. I won't wear a bracelet because I hate to cover it up, but long sleeves would do the trick if you need to. It actually took the people at work a month to notice it since most people don't generally walk around with your wrist facing outwards
Here are mine (can you tell I'm a physicist? )
