Tax experts - school me quickly on this
Usually we go to Jackson Hewitt or somewhere or we do it ourselves- quick, easy, simple.
I have read to avoid these places, but never gave it much thought and didn't know if it was such a big deal.
Now after having purchased a home, is it in our best interest that we find a tax professional?

Did you purchase your home in 2010? If so, you may want to seek out a tax professional due to the 1st time home buyer credit (assuming you qualify).
Also, there may be some items on your closing statement/HUD Statement that may be deductible on your tax return (if you paid points).
FM if you want; I'm a CPA.

My sister went to H&R Block last year and they told her she had to pay like $700 or something. She then went to a tax professional and he redid her return, she got back over 2K. So yes, I would go to a tax professional.
