Tax on a new home
i called the REA to find out the tax on this new home i found online. she said that the tax can't be assess until the house is purchased and was not able to find a house nearby to give me an estimated tax.
anyone know where else i can find out the estimated tax?

if your in nassau you can check mynassauproperty.com. I think you may also be able to call the town and find out..but she is right, once you purchase the home the town will come and reassess it.

but just keep in mind...new structures have $$$$$ taxes!

Sorry...I missed that is was a brand new home.
New homes you get f*cked with taxes (for lack of better terms). I know so many people who bought brand new home in suffolk (around miller place, port jeff, etc.) and the taxes weren't horrible and than in the next couple of years they almost doubled so be very careful. I would call the town and see if they can help you.
