Taxes & Star
OK 2 questions, I am closing on my house in 2 weeks. The previous owner has the star, does this transfer to me or do I have to refile. If I have to re-file how do I do it without a copy of the deed since it seems as if the deadline is March 2nd?
Secondly, I know the assesment of houses has gone down, does this mean next years taxes will as well? if not how do I go about grieving them in nassau?

you will have to reapply for star it does not get transfered over. if you miss the deadline I guess you will have to do it next year.
Find a lawyer in Nassau that deal with it or go on line and research it. I think it is easier in Nassau then suffolk.
