teachers/therapists that work with an agency-
I need recommendations/advice on getting malpractice liability insurance.
(more specifically, as a Special Ed Early Intervention teacher just starting out) - nassau/suffolk.
please send me an fm if you have any info.
thanks!

I use Marsh. Does your professional organization have an affiliation with one? I'm an SLP and ASHA partners with Marsh.

I use MARSH too, they are pretty cheap and cover a lot, not that you should ever need it!

Re: teachers/therapists that work with an agency-
thanks so much for all the feedback everyone !!
can we start an EI board ??
oh, I have another question.
is there a website or any main source of where to get in-service credits or any seminars, etc. (special education- all disabilities) would love to get started on this asap.
im going for the nassau training in a few weeks (was told nassau requires specific training/certif?) im really suffolk, but they told me many nassau residents work in suffolk and may have kids in childcare/school by their jobs, etc.

Re: teachers/therapists that work with an agency-
thanks again for all the recs ladies!
now I hope this doesnt come across the wrong way, Im trying to make a decision on whether to get a f/t position (lower pay but free childcare) or do EI.
Does anyone have any clue what EI starts at/hourly ? (Special Ed teacher, suffolk county). I know it's a different price per hour, and per evaluation. Also, do they reimburse for anything? Ive been tutoring for an agency, and the gas and cell minutes add up (they dont reimburse).
You can fm me if you prefer, I have no idea of these #s and just wanted to figure out what Im working with.
is it rude of me to ask the agency what starting pay is ? thanks
