Team Green Mommies
What are you doing about clothing? Are you going to buy some boy and some girl stuff and then return what you don't need? I really do not like gender neutral clothing but buying boy and girl stuff and then returning seems like a hassle, plus what if the stores won't take it back? Just wanted some opinions

Re: Team Green Mommies
My daughter & son in law are not planning on finding out (so far anyway) She's due in Nov. She has a bedding set picked out for a girl. They will pick one for a boy but we won't buy anything until after the baby is born. They will have paint colors picked out for both and my son in law will paint the room after the baby is born. The baby will be in their room for a month or two so it will give him time to paint. They will have their furniture though. She wants to be able to have everything washed and in the drawers right after her shower. We went to the Carters outlet in Carle Place the other day. We did not see any "neutral" baby outfits. Just about everything is boyish or girlish. I told her I would buy some of each when the time gets closer and I'll return whatever we don't need. At the Carters store there is no time limit as long as you have your receipt. However you paid for it, that's how you get it back, which is good. We will also check BRU and see what their return policy is and maybe I can pick some things up there too. Congratulations to you !!

Re: Team Green Mommies
I will probably get some gender neutral things before the baby comes
And then it is my moms job to go shopping the day after baby is born and hook me up with lots of blues or pinks LOL

I agree with you, shopping for neutral clothing was not too fun so I only registered for a few gender neutral staples and I will wait to see what I get for my shower. I know my mom will totally take care of shopping after the baby is born so I am not really worried about it.

Re: Team Green Mommies
I've been buying both girl and boy stuff! I know it's bad, but I can't help myself. I got some stuff in Carter's, so no prob returning there. But, the other stuff I got at Baby Gap and H&M, so I guess we'll see what happens

Re: Team Green Mommies
I got a few gender neutral things to get through the first few days home. Then I got tons of clothes as gifts after the baby was born and people came to visit.
I now have more then enough!

Re: Team Green Mommies
I had a bunch of gender neutral newborn clothes and a few 0-3 month clothes. Once DS was born, my mom went nuts and bought a ton of boy stuff. Plus, we started getting a lot of boy clothes as gifts. Personally, I wouldn't want to deal with returning stuff and I'm glad I had enough neutral clothes to at least get me through the first week.
