Re: Tear Jerker?
dance with my father...
and also, john mayer has a song on his newest album called "stop this train" that doesn't make me CRY.. but makes me start to choke up!
my dad is my best friend and just the thought of losing him makes me so terribly upset!

Re: Tear Jerker?
I don't think it is a 'tear jerker' but Solsbury Hill by Peter Gabriel gets me crying because it reminds me of a time that I decided to take control of my life and walk out of a bad situation.
Also - Kate Bush sings a song called "This Woman's Work" which is beautiful and chokes me up.
And Vienna by Ultravox always gets me teary.
Actually.. there are a lot of songs that evoke strong emotions from me and can make me cry. These are just 3 off the top.

Re: Tear Jerker?
I agree with MissJones, the music and the screenplay of Beaches makes me cry a river every time! My DH had to throw out the DVD so I would stop watching it, lol.
DMB has a few songs that make me tear up, mainly its the guy that plays the violin and Carter Beuford (sp) that are such great musicians...they bring me to tears.
"While my guitar gently weeps" -The Beatles/ George Harrison
"Anything But Mine" - Kenny Chesney

Re: Tear Jerker?
Lightening Crashes by Live - it came out when the federal building in Ohio was blown up and Z100 did a mix of the song with outtakes from the news footage. I had to pull over, I was crying so hard. To this day that song makes me cry cuz all I think about is that and those little children who died.
Christmas Shoes - I can't listen to it at all.

YES!!!!!
The Lighthouse by Nickle Creek. It's a song about a story told by a lighthouse (I know wierd) about the lighthouse keeper and his love... she dies, he jumps off he lighthouse to be with her forever, the lighthouse is alone... it sounds silly, but it pulls a tear or two...
There are soooo many more... I'm a big ol' baby!

Butterfly Kisses gets me all the time. (My dad is still around, but, I just cannot help it).
Christmas Shoes. I cannot even listen to it. I lose it completely.
Without a doubt- christmas shoes. I turn the radio off but I still hear it!! It's HORRIBLE!! And then they had to go and make a movie! I'm starting to well up thinking about it
Edited to say: I Hope You Dance too. I danced with my mom at our wedding to this song and we both made it through without crying but I can't hear it without bursting into tears. She always says "Ohh this is my song for you!!" when it comes on the radio.

Re: Tear Jerker?
There is a hootie and the blowfish song that reminds me of losing my dad. I get pretty down when I hear it. But then I remember all of the good times. So then I am leveled out.
