Here is a different perspective on the study https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/dumpster-diving-in-vaers-doctors-fall-into-the-same-trap-as-antivaxxers/
“Dumpster diving” is a term used to describe studies using data from the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System database by authors, almost always antivaxxers, who don’t understand its limitations. Last week, non-antivax doctors who should know better fell into this trap when they promoted their study suggesting that COVID-19 mRNA vaccines are more dangerous to children than the disease.
One problem this author is pointing out is the issue of the authors using VAERS data to come to their conclusion when the VAERS database itself cautions:
Reports may include incomplete, inaccurate, coincidental and unverified information. The number of reports alone cannot be interpreted or used to reach conclusions about the existence, severity, frequency, or rates of problems associated with vaccines.
And it is also important to note that myocarditis is usually caused by a virus.
Mayo Clinic
Here is an article soon to be published in Pediatrics. COVID-19 Vaccination-Associated Myocarditis in Adolescents
Conclusion: Clinical characteristics and early outcomes are similar between the different pediatric age groups. There is evidence of myocardial inflammation and injury following mRNA COVID-19 vaccination as seen on CMR. The hospital course is mild with quick clinical recovery and excellent short-term outcomes. Close follow up and further studies are needed to understand the long-term implications and mechanism of these myocardial tissue changes.Link
One of the authors of this study posted a tweet saying: While we still don’t know the long term outcomes of post-vaccine myocarditis, we do know that other myocarditis caused by viruses (#1 cause) like Covid can sometimes lead to death or need for heart transplant… And we haven’t seen that from post-vaccine myocarditis in the US.

So basically,
Interesting that no one is addressing this post

As I said, a different perspective.

No, I looked up the study that referenced Myacarditis. Then I read some articles about the validity of the study and what other doctors thought was wrong with the it.
Itsbabytime said: Is that the best you can do?
Um yeah, on my 15 minute break. Didn’t have a bunch of time to start searching Medline.
itsbabytime said: And you think it’s interesting that no one responded? Respond to what? Second hand opinions?
No, opinions of doctors.
it’sbabytime said: Give me a break with this!
Did I direct my post at you? Nooooo…
itsbabytime said: If you don’t think there is any risk from the covid vaccines that’s totally fine (although scientific evidence has established the contrary)!
Nowhere in my post did I deny that the COVID vaccine may be the cause of the cases of myocarditis seen in post-vaccine boys. I pointed out that Myocarditis Is usually caused by a virus, which COVID is. So, as indicated by my scratching head emoji, what do you do? Do parents take the chance with the vaccine knowing that while it may not prevent their child from getting COVID, it may lessen the severity but at the same time there is a risk of Myocarditis or do they not vaccinate knowing there is a risk of Myocarditis when infected by a virus.
In my post there is a link to the Mayo Clinic’s article on Myocarditis (bet you didn’t read that either, but whatever) that states “Infection with a virus usually causes myocarditis. Sometimes myocarditis can result from a reaction to a drug or be part of a more general inflammatory condition.
itsbabytime said: No one is stopping you from vaccinating yourself and your kids. No one! BUT - There is documented risk with these vaccines. The extent and frequency of that risk is still being studied but people have had adverse life altering reactions and even died and yes this is again scientific fact.
Again, I never said there wasn’t a risk.
itsbabytime said: I guess people who suffer that risk (rare or not) have become dumpster trash? Disgusting!
Um, no. Had you actually read the article you would have seen that the author refers to “Dumpster Diving” as “a term used to describe studies using data from the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System database by authors, almost always antivaxxers, who don’t understand its limitations.”
Limitations that are clearly stated in the VAERS database disclaimer.
Key considerations and limitations of VAERS data:
Vaccine providers are encouraged to report any clinically significant health problem following vaccination to VAERS, whether or not they believe the vaccine was the cause.
****Reports may include incomplete, inaccurate, coincidental and unverified information.
***The number of reports alone cannot be interpreted or used to reach conclusions about the existence, severity, frequency, or rates of problems associated with vaccines.
VAERS data is limited to vaccine adverse event reports received between 1990 and the most recent date for which data are available.
VAERS data do not represent all known safety information for a vaccine and should be interpreted in the context of other scientific information.
And finally…Nowhere did I say ANYTHING TO THE EFFECT THAT PEOPLE “who suffer that risk” ARE DUMPSTER TRASH!
Jesus Christ Almighty.

Re: Teenage boys more at risk from vaccines than from covid
I wonder what data the UK is using to determine they should halt vaccinating children at all at this point.
They are a pretty intelligent, first world country. Pretty advanced in science and medicine.
I wonder what they know that we don't. Or that we refuse to believe as we push the agenda.
Here we are offering a hundred bucks to vaccinate the children now. And there they are saying- you know what, it's not worth the risk for children that age. Interesting.

They’re not halting vaccinations. From what I read, the chief medical officers are recommending a single dose right now for 12-15 year olds despite the joint committee’s recommendation that the vaccine provides marginal health benefits for those kids who do not have underlying conditions compared to the potential harms. Basically, from purely a health perspective, for the average healthy 12-15 year old, it’s very rare to experience serious adverse reactions from either COVID or the vaccine. The risks exist for both and the benefits are marginal enough that the committee did not recommend a universal campaign to vaccinate that age group.
In recommending the vaccination, from what I read, the chief medical officers also looked at societal impacts such as reducing transmission in school and avoiding disruption in education.
I don’t know if kids in the UK have been going to school in person, but I do think the impact of quarantines/remote learning and reducing in school transmission are relevant considerations. A lot of people have posted about mental health and the toll remote learning has taken on their kids. For those who work outside of the home, having to figure out childcare during a quarantine can also be a challenge. There are risks, while very small, in both vaccinating and not vaccinating. A doctor I know mentioned that one of the children’s hospitals near me needed to open up a special clinic because there are so many kids with long term COVID symptoms. All of the information can be overwhelming and we are constantly learning new things about this virus. Everyone needs to do what they think is best for their kids.

I feel bad for the family who really needs money and feels they have to do this to get some cash. And where is all this payola coming from? Taxes?
There is no amount of money that they can offer me to take part of that experiment.

NYC offered incentives to get vaccinated from the start. Gift cards, tickets to sporting events, train tickets, etc. Then they offered $100 for vaccines for everyone starting a couple of months ago.

Probably the same place it's coming from when they spend $4000 on a shower curtain for a politician. Or spend 20 million on a national park bathroom. I would rather see crap like this though than utter wasteful spending and budgeting with "government pricing" for other things.

Yes but I don't believe in bribing people to get a vaccine either so...

So you don’t mind being taxed up the hoo ha? Must be nice to make so much money that it doesn’t affect you.
