Tell me about the Jones Beach Air Show.

We've never gone before but are looking to go this year.

I'm guessing its a total clusterf$ck with traffic/parking what not.


What time do we need to get there? How crazy is it?

What are your tips for making the day as easy as possible -- what field do we go to? etc?

We went last year, but we rode our bikes there, we live in Bellmore and its a decent ride but if you have a nice day its a fun ride. We were laughing at the people sitting in traffic trying to get there, it was NUTS. I'd make sure you're there around 8am, otherwise its impossible in terms of traffic.

Its FUN!

We went once and tried a second time. To me its not worth it. Traffic is ridiculous to get there, and then when you finally get on the beach, people are right on top of you. The second time we attempted to go, we made it as far as a park in Wantagh on Merrick road.

I go every yr. I think it starts around 10 or 11, and we get there about 9 and its already packed! Its a great day, and I love it...I would recommed it!! Its worth the traffic and parking for one day

I heard a rumor they cancelled it this year.

Okay, just googled. The person was wrong. But the Blue Angels are not on the roster and I heard that rumor, too.


We went last year and had a great time. It's LOUD but fun! Bring your own chairs, food and drinks and be prepared to either wait on ridiculous lines for the bathroom or have sanitizer for the portapotties. Oh, remember sunblock.

And get there early!!!!! It starts at 10 but once the lots are full, they send you back.

i think the show is usually on a Sat & Sun, but if you go on Fri for the pratice show, it's the same show and not as crowded. parking is so much easier and it's just more relaxed. that's when we usually go cause we hate the crowds lol.

Go early! We get there between 8:30 and 9 and never have a problem with traffic. We go to the main field, but go right down to the water and it's usually not so packed.

I think it's worth it. It's a fun day.

The air show is on just is going to be a bit smaller this year. The blue angles arnt able to be there. :( i would say to get there no later then 9:30- 10ish. Parking isnt to bad if u get there early. There is a parking fee *im not sure what it is though i get a parking pase dh works for the show* Its a good time if its nice out.
