Re: tell me about your 12-16 month olds self help skills
DD (15 months) doesn't really dress or undress herself yet, but she does like to play with her shoes and randomly at times she can get them off (not on). She tries to put them on though. She can pull her socks off too.
Feeding wise, she feeds herself all her finger foods and tries to use the spoon, but it is a real mess. If I put something on the fork for her, she can eat it, but she wont pierce it by herself.
Shes starting with some grooming too... she likes to brush or comb her own hair and brushes her teeth (not well or anything, but she tries!!!) If I think of more, I'll add.

Re: tell me about your 12-16 month olds self help skills
Troy is doing much of the same as well- I am "afraid" to give him a spoon/fork to feed himself-I am afraid of the mess I'll have to clean up!
He attempts to brush/comb his hair, but not that great. However teeth brushing he sort of lets me do it, but when he is in control of the toothbrush, all he does is chew on the bristles.

EXACTLY where we're at and DD will be 14 mths tomorrow....
She can brush her teeth now...not perfectly, obviously, but she gets the concept. We've started that as part of our bathtime routine.
She hold the fork and every once in a while she'll pierce a piece and clap after she puts it in her mouth. She uses the spoon and fork fine when I put food on them for her.
No dressing herself either. She gets the putting in of the arm, and when I have pants she'll lift her leg or direct her leg towards the pant...Shoes the same...she's an expert at taking the velcro ones off.
She likes to brush her hair and mommies, although the brush isn't always turned tot he right side

Emma is 16 months old today..she feeds herself with utensils, she brushes her teeth, wipes her face (and everthing around her) brushes her hair, tries to put her shoes on and take them off. Doesn't dress herself, tries to help though.

Same here as well.
He knows arms up to take clothes off and will pull his shirt off, and same with pants when they fall down, he can take his legs out.

Re: tell me about your 12-16 month olds self help skills
Dressing: Lucas can push his arms through the sleeves of his shirt and can pull the neck part over his head once it's in place over his forehead.
Undressing: Lucas will put his hands up when we take off his shirt and can pull the shirt off once it's at his forehead. He will also lift each foot from the floor (one at a time) to help remove his pants. He can open and close the velcro from his sneakers.
Feeding: He can put the fork or spoon into his mouth once I put the food on and hand it to him. Then he gives it back for more. He can drink from a straw and knows how to put the straw into the container. Has to hold it by himself. He eats all table food by hand no problem and if there is too much in his mouth he takes it out and hands it to the closest person.
Bathing: He can massage the shampoo on his head once you put it on and get it into a lather. He can also do the same for his belly. He likes to try to brush his teeth (and mine)
