Temping Questions
This month I deciding to start temping and I have 2 questions...
It says to temp as soon as you wake up... what exactly does that mean? DH's alarm goes off at 5:45 and it does wake me up, but I go back to sleep on and off until mine goes off 7:15/7:30. Do I have to temp when he gets up or can I wait until I do?
Also, I did it the past 2 days and my temp is lower than the chart that was with the thermometer. lol Just by 1 degree (it is 97.75 both days, the chart goes to 97.8) Is that normal? When I was a kid my temp always ran high, so it's been interesting to see it so low!
TIA

Re: Temping Questions
I believe you should take it when dh's alarm goes off b/c you are supposed to take it after atleast 3 straight hrs of sleep and you won't get that after his alarm goes off.
That is a fine temp. Sometimes mine are in the 96 range.
Go to fertility friend. com and use their charts, its very easy.

Re: Temping Questions
I am using the mymonthlycycles site, I like that better than FF.
I wasafraid the answer would be 5:45. Looks like that will be my new get up time, since there's no way I'll be falling back asleep after asking up so much and turning on the light lol. I really hope this works.

Re: Temping Questions
Don't know if your thermometer has it, but mine will save the last temp, so I'll often take it and then turn it off, without turning on the light, then check it later so I can fall back asleep (on weekends when I don't want to get out up at my temp time).

Here is what FF has to say about it

From what I understand, they say to take your temp at your regular waking time, even if you wake up earlier with your DH alarm.

I agree with this. there are many times that I have woken up in the middle of the night and go right back to sleep. it should be taken at your waking time everyday.

Re: Temping Questions
Yeah, I had forgotten that it has the memory feature so I do just take it when dh wakes up then record it when I do. And really, in the 5 days I've been doing this, it has ranged from 97.71 to 97.75 so that seems close enough to me I guess we will see! lol TY for the help!
