Re: Terrible retrieval experience today
This is one of the most disturbing posts I have ever read on here! I am so sorry that this happened to you and I pray it does not happen to anyone else. After struggling with IF and going through several IVF's I finally am pregnant I could not imagine what this experience must have been like. I pray this works for you and I am sending you hugs and prayers. Please let the other girls know where this lab is I would hate for them to have the same experience. Good luck!

Wow..I am so sorry. That is just not right. Things do happen but they should have had a back-up on call. I would definitely complain to your Dr. Unreal. I hope you are feeling better now.

Re: Terrible retrieval experience today
If the retrieval took place outside of your doctor's office, as I think you said, it is SO important your doctor know this happened. He/she may not know this is going on at the facility/lab. Having gone through IVF quite a bit, I cannot imagine an office doing this to a patient. I honestly feel it is beyond unprofessional to put a patient in this situation where you had to do this without sedation or your other choice was not go to retrieval at all. That is horrible.
Could you FM me the facility so I am aware, as I will make sure I don't cycle there.

Re: Terrible retrieval experience today
I'm sorry for your trauma. I cannot imagine doing that awake. I hope they don't plan on using this person in the future. I'm sure everyone was a mess today.
But, I will say there are many RE's across the country that do not use anesthesia for ER. So its not totally unheard of. I've had a few friends tell me that and I was always blown away by that (and not in a good way).
Well, all I can say is this one better work because you certainly got put through it today.
Did they give you anything to at least calm you?
Keeping everything crossed for you!!!!

Wow! That is awful! I'm so sorry that you went through that! I would absolutely complain to the Dr and the Lab and yes, you should get the retrieval for free!!! Honestly, I'd change Dr's because I'd worry about the reliability of the whole practice. I'm so sorry!!!!
