testing early live and learn...
So I figured since I am going through a hard time since losing the baby I can at least share stuff I learned. There was some in my blog post but here is something i can take away with me and not make the same mistake again...
So I was so excited to test..as we all are. My periods aren't all over the place but AF did come on CD 27, 1 month and CD 35 another month. Therefore, since I don't check when I ovulate there isn't an exact science as to how far along I was in my pregnancy.
Anyway...I was so excited to test I tested on CD 27 (earliest I have gotten my period) and i tested on one of those early digitals that can tell 5 days early...well it came back with a BFP.
So That being said...I was able to track how far along i was from the date of my last period...but since I tested so early I could've been way off! I went to the doctor at what I thought was 6 wks 4 days...but who knows!
So this is a long winded way of saying..if I had the chance to do it again i would wait to test till the longest date I got AF...It will be so hard and I will still be so excited...but at least in my opinion it is better to tell your doctor you are less along then you really are b/c going to the doctor early is a big mistake. So if i can help anyone not make this same mistake I will be happy. Good luck!!

Re: testing early live and learn...
I've been through this several times now and I though I should share a different view with you. Because of my testing early, I was able to get to the OB and find out my hcg and progesterone levels which were low and get put on prometrium at 7DPO. I had two MCs in Feb and Mar likely due to low progesterone and would never have known I was even PG bc I miscarried around the day AF was due both times and would have just thought it was AF... As painful as those MCs were, because of them my OB started having me come in for blood PG tests at 7DPO after that. I'm only 5w2d so far but it's farther than I made it the last two times so we're If I hadnt been an earlier tester, I'd still just think I wasnt getting PG and would have just kept having MCs and not knowing I had an issue. Your best bet is to track when you O to time the pregnancy.
I am so sorry for your loss. I've been there if you need to talk!

I am so sorry Zoe for your loss. It is absolutely horrible that you had to go through that. I have to say though that I think everyone is different and I agree with a lot of what the above poster said. I also have very low progesterone and one of the benefits testing so early (with both pregnancies I got + HPT's at 8DPO), was that we caught it. Same with one of my close GF's she also has very low progesterone issues (she has had 3 chemicals and 2 m/c and finally they realized it was the progesterone that was the issue and now she has two beautiful DC b/c they realized she needed to be on it right away and keep track of it throughout the 1st trimester). I agree that testing early can get your hopes up, esp if it turns out to be a chemical, but I think that for some it the right thing to do and can save the pregnancy
