Testing for Reading levels and such

Ok so I may be horribly late since its january but I really need to find my kids reading levels and I need some guidance.

First, let me say that I only discovered i have a few...very few leveled books in my library. I have no resources on testing my kids from the school. I do understand the system and how to test as i did it in my student teaching 2 years ago.

So are there any websites or resources to help me figure out what level they read on that are free? Also any websites or such to help me level the rest of my library?

Its times like this I wish I were in a public school for the resources, my school doesn't have the money to buy leveled books or buy a kit to help me test for the levels.

Any help is appreciated!

Let me also say that I have spent the first half of this year figuring out how I want to teach since I have the freedom to do what I want but I really miss key things like reading levels because it starts to show after a while that my students are struggling with reading compehension and I really want to tackle that issue.

Wow, that sounds rough. I have used Scholastic's Book Wizard to level books. It is great. Scholastic's Book Wizard
