text messages flash and then disappear on iphone?

text messages flash and then disappear on iphone?
I notice this happens often, someone will be having a text convo w/me and I see a message come up but before i am done reading, it disappears! this happens with numerous of my other iphone users i am friends with.......anyone know what can be done about it?
if i see the message disappear, i can ask fo them to send it again, but i wonder how many messages i miss.

That happens to me, but it always shows up again after a few minutes. It's so weird!

This happens to me too (it vanishes and comes back) but only with two people (who both happen to have the same name). I think my phone has a mind of its own!

Happens to me too - complete with the reappearance later on. You can swipe down from the top (where the clock is) and you'll have a log of all recent alerts. You should be able to access it from there.
