Texting or talking on the phone?

I don't like to make phone calls, I only like texting on my phone. I have a friend that doesn't like to text at all lol, and only makes phone calls. I have told her that if she wants to talk, she can leave me a voice msgs and I will call her to talk. What do you prefer?

I have to add... she feels that I'm weird because I don't like talking on the phone hahah

sorry, text is lazy and not really a conversation and IMO more work. I'm not a great texter and im slow at it too.

so I prefer a phone call and people who know me know that too

I dont blame your friend for wanting to talk. you always have to call her back ? you never answer a call or her call?

Re: Texting or talking on the phone?

I don't talk on the phone unless it's absolutely necessary .
Even at work I prefer to communicate via email.
My social anxiety dictates that I only text or email.

Hate talking on the phone. Hate it. Much prefer texting. I even prefer emailing at work as opposed to talking on the phone.

Texting or talking on the phone?

It depends. I won't have a full blown convo through text. I use texting to ask a quick question, wish someone a good day in the morning, send a Happy... message, thinking of you if I know they are going through something. But I will call people if I want to catch up and see how they are doing, etc.

Depends who it is. Most Friends / Family I like talking on the phone. We do text. But we also call each other occasionally. Those convos can last 30 mins to an hr.
My BF and a mix of both but mostly call each other.

People I work for. Always text.

The only person I talk to on the phone is my best friend. She will frequently mention that she called one of our other friends and they never called her back.

I then have to remind her that no one wants to talk on the phone because it's 2018 and we're not 70. But she keeps right on calling them like she's their mom.

I talk to my sister (and video chat) multiple times a day most days. We live on opposite sides of the county, haven't seen each other in many months, and both have young kids so I love it. I love that we are both very much a part of each other's every day life and are very close with each other's kids. Then we hang up and immediately start texting lol.

Other family (mostly my mom and mil) I talk to occasionally. Most friends almost exclusively text though I have a few that lean more toward phone calls which I don't mind but I almost never am the one to initiate.

Re: Texting or talking on the phone?

My arm/hand starts to ache if I text a lot... so while I prefer it for a lot of reasons, lately it's just been easier/quicker to talk.

Re: Texting or talking on the phone?

To add to my OP, I only talk on the phone with my mom, because she is old school and doesn't even know how to text. I only answer phone calls that are from my DS's school, during school hours. I feel that from anyone else, if it is urgent and important, they will leave a vm.

And I feel it is faster to text... i.e: what time is the party.... answer: 6:00 pm. In a phone call I feel it'll be, hi! how are you? how are you doing? do you know what time the party is? lol. I know there is not right or wrong answer here.

I prefer to talk but for quick updates or to answer a question text is fine. I feel calls are more personal

Me too. I seriously hate talking on the phone. Even with people I know, I'd rather communicate electronically. In-person is fine, but I don't like phone conversations for some reason.

Re: Texting or talking on the phone?

Speaking of which I remember the days before texting whenever I had to RSVP to a party invite I would dread it!!
I would purposely try to call when I thought nobody would be home so I could just leave a message on the machine.
I was so happy when people started including email addresses and cell #'s on invites for RSVPing.

Yes, I have issues!

Texting or talking on the phone?

I'm not much of a cell phone person, because I find that I get K-holed immediately, so I just let my kids use it and only grab it on my way out. I'd much rather talk on the phone or email (if I need to make contact with parents or something business related)

Re: Texting or talking on the phone?

It depends on my mood. I usually prefer texting, but when I want a full conversation or I have to explain a lot, then talking it is.

I don’t hate talking on the phone but I much prefer texting, it’s just easier in my opinion. I’m often busy doing things, hurrying up, running late, breaking a fight between my 2 little ones lolol, so checking a text or sending a text when I get a sec it’s so much easier and convenient than having an elaborated and long (when I talk to my family I know our conversations will easily last at least one hr!) phone conversation.

Texting or talking on the phone?

Depends on who I am talking to. I talk to my sister and parents all the time on the phone for extended periods of time. Everyone else I text.
