texture issues? or just not liking meat?
I've tried meats with DD-- well, just chicken- a few times now. i tried homemade and she gagged so much and coughed and made faces. Then I tried plum organics chicken with veggies & pasta- which was good, I tried it myself!- and she did the same. I've tried both a few times and she hates it. She's 7.5 months...do you think she's just not ready? She did great with all other foods and loves puffs...which she has to mash..I'm at a loss...
Do I just wait and try again next month?

This is my DS, to a T!
He hated ground meats, chicken, turkey, whatever. and the plum organics ones rock, they are delish so it always frustrated me.
Firstly, I would try the turkey one from plum organics, the texture is a little more consistent and you can thin it out with some water to test it out. It also has a lot of rosemary in it, which makes it taste like it could be a familiar veggie.
Once DS took to puffs, I started to give him soft table foods. I cooked chicken in crock pot, and shredded it and smooshed it in my fingers, hand fed him pieces and loved it.
Now I'll leave some shredded chicken on his tray and he'll eat it. But I've also sneaked it into veggies and he eats it that way too. It took a few weeks, but now he takes to the plum organics ones just fine.
But homemade meats that are finely chopped/pureed no way! I don't get it, but maybe I do, I wouldn't like to eat meat that way either.
Try a few things, they just need to get used to the idea of new textures, but you can ease them into it, imo.

We tried all the meats and love them, next I'm going to try the beans. My cooking does not stand up to this stuff, its so great!

I make tiny foil balls to line the bottom, put skinless chicken thighs on top, with a little water, a tiny bit of Italian seasoning, no salt. You can also just boil the chicken in a little bit of water, then use the broth to thin out veggies when you puree them. Just boil it and then let simmer for an hour or so, so that its very tender.

I think the chicken is the lumpiest one because of the bits of pasta. But he took to it just fine after we practiced a few things.
