Sharon, I am so sorry this has happened.
I just hope that she is not experiencing pain and that they are keeping her as comfortable as possible.
I will pray for her and your family. I know exactly how you feel.

Thanks so much everyone!! My brother/SIL were there last night and she was awake and telling the doctors that she was calling the police if they didn't leave her alone. She is not eating voluntarily but she's getting her nutrition from tubes, etc. Her sense or recollection is a bit gone, as she can't recognize everyone. She's definitely going into a long term care facility if she does survive (she's in the critical care ward), but at least we're all on board about what is going to happen, etc. No more speculating about what to do with her, the house, etc. The doctors said despite her condition, her heart is in great shape

I am so sorry. Like your last comment, this is how I felt about my grandma. On the night she died, before I left, I whispered in her ear, if it's your time to go gram, please go, go see papa and give him a big kiss for us....she passed away later on that night I honestly feel that me saying that to her helped her. It was some of the hardest words that I've ever had to say

You have my prayers and hugs. I am speechless and don't know what to say. I have dealt with my father having dementia and a severe form called Louis Body Dementia (I don't know if it is spelled that way). I understand how hard it is to have a loved one so ill.

Well, I would like to personally STAB the POS that stole my grandmother's wedding rings!!! I tried to pry them off her fingers on Friday when she arrived (even used sanitizer to loosen them off her hands but they didn't budge and she sort of pulled away like I was causing her pain). They must have caused her serious pain to pry them off!! I will NEVER allow another one of my family members to EVER go to NUMC!! That place is the armpit of H E L L and I can't believe someone stole the ring off her hand that she's had there for 72 years!!! (they were married 62; he's been gone for 10). I hope you die!!!!

OMG...that is HORRIBLE!! Did you check with the nurse that maybe they took them off but have them for safe keeping?

How horrible!!!! I agree though -- check with the nurses they might have them. I know were I work (not NUMC!!  ) if we take off someone jewlery when family isn't present it goes in a little ziploc baggie in their chart.
