I am doing flex now also and I hate counting points for the foods I am eating. I always loved the atkins diet but I didnt love eating all of the fat. I wonder if the core plan would be easier for me to follow.

Can you post a sample of what you would eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks during the day?
Thanks,

Scott

bfast:
ff plain yogurt w/ shredded wheat cereal and blueberries sprinkled with sweet and low.

another option I like is eggs. I'll eat that w/fruit and morningstar farms sausage links (2 is one point)

lunch:

ww pasta, maybe with some veggies in tomato sauce (today its core meatsauce)

dinner:
steak and sauteed corn. I buy frozen and saute w/ a touch of olive oil and garlic. yum!

yesterday i had a burger w/ff mozz and avocado. so tasty!

a lot of times, i opt for a non-core lunch like white rice sushi (can't do brown rice sushi...just not right for me) and then i'll do core bfast and dinner. it works for me.

Midday (Mexican takeout tostada salad - I asked for no shell, cheese, sour cream or guac and asked for fresh avocado instead)
2 cup mixed greens
1 item refrigerated grilled chicken breast fillet 3
1 cup pico de gallo
3/4 cup cooked black beans
1/2 medium avocado
Subtotal 3

Just wondering why the chicken counts as 3 and is not core. Is this because you are unsure of the preparation?

Yeah chicken is usually core but because this was takeout I just counted the grilled chicken points (to also kind of cover for the black beans as well). I know wierd, sorry I should not use that as an example Chat Icon

They just recently added fast food grilled chicken as core - before I think you had to count points for them.

i think blackbeans dont have points-- they are core

The cereal once a day rule is separate from the whole wheat pasta rule. You can have fiber one in the morning and then whole pasta later in the day if you wish.

Scott, no worries. We all fall off the wagon now and then Chat Icon

Anytime!! It's really not as confusing as it looks. You will get the hang of it after a day or two I promise! There are just a few things to remember and other than that it really is simple Chat Icon
