The doctor finally called...ETA 1/12/06
and it looks like I need the valve replacement surgery with in the next three months. I definitely cannot have anymore children unless medical technology advances and I can come off of cumadin. I will have to be on cumadin for the rest of my life. The leak in the valve is borderline severe and the valve needs to be replaced. He also said that the valve being replaced is not a guarantee the my heart function would get better, it would just fix the leak. If the heart function does not improve after valve replacement, I would need a heart transplant.
Today I cried (a lot) and then I realized that I am so thankful to have my DD. My doctor told me that many of his patients cannot even have one child and I feel so blessed to have Grace. As much as I want another child, I know I have to take care of my health and be here, healthy for Gracie and my DH. I know God is in control. I have faith that this will all work out and that the surgery will enhance my life.
I have an appointment to have an IUD put in after we get back from Hawaii. Yes, I am still going and my cardiologist told me to go and relax. I am thankful I can still go.
Girls, treasure every moment of your pregnancies, with your little ones, and with your DH's and your families. I Thank you for all the prayers and well wishes, it means so much to me.

WOW. I did not expect this response. Everyone on this website are some of he most amazing women (and men) I have ever had the pleasure to chat with and meet (a few of you). I cannot express how uplifting it is to read words of encouragement when you are going through something like this.
I feel like I "know" a lot of you because we have gone through our pregnancies together and now we are all parents, going through that together. Even though I have not met most of you, all of you are posting these inspiring words, giving hugs, prayers, and letting me know that we are not alone in this. I believe God sends people into your life exactly when you need them and they need you. When I signed up on LIF I needed a community of pregnant woman to ask questions to. I was so unsure about everything that was going on with my body and did not want to call the OBGYN every 5 minutes. LOL. All of you were there for me then and are inspiring me now.
I am thankful that God lead me to all of you. Your words of encouragement and prayers mean more to me than you will ever know.

Thanks girls. The doctor was thinking I would have the surgery around April. We go in after our trip to talk about dates that would work.

I tell her that every night before I put her to bed. She is truly my little miracle.
