Wow, Dina, you are so strong. I'm crying as I'm typing this and yet you seem to have such a terrific perspective on it already. Stay strong. You have a beautiful family and you are right to treasure it. I wish you all the best. Try to relax and enjoy your trip. You deserve it. We're here if you need anything.

Many hugs to you Dina. If you ever need anything, to talk, someone to watch Grace. Let me know...I'm just a few miles away now. I'd love to get together one day in the near future. I just got a job closer to home...in Goshen! So I'll be around a lot more.
My grandmother had a valve replacement in the winter of '05 and she has recovered so well...and she was 79 at the time of the surgery. Then to top it off, that summer she had both of her knees replaced!

God does work in mysterious ways. I haven't really figured Him out yet!
I will tell you a story of a friend of mine. You actually all probably know or have heard of him, as he's a LIW vendor- a very popular vendor. 10 years ago, he was loosing his heart. Dr.'s had him on so much medication and bed rest, as he had lost 80% of his heart. He was forced to quit his job at the time and start taking all this medication.
(To make a very long story short)
He said to his wife that if it's "his time" he wanted "to go" doing something he loved. They took everything they had and bought a business, one he did want to be in for as long as he could remember. Well, as fate would have it, doing this and keeping up with Dr.'s orders, he now has one of the most successful wedding businesses on LI and 60% of his heart has recovered. He and his wife have adopted a baby girl who just turned 3 over Thanksgiving.
You sound like a very strong person! Enjoy your vacation and time with your family. I'm sure the surgery will be successful for you. Many hugs!
