I am not 100% sure Harris is a great pick - I don't know that much about her. I do look forward to learning more about her though, and really do wish I had confidence that Biden will surround himself with the right people. I don't have that kind of confidence in any politician - no matter who they are.

I'm curious about who you think would have been a better candidate, based on what you currently know?

I'm also NOT a fan of Biden, and it has nothing to do with his politics. But it's who the Dems some how picked as the candidate (grumble, grumble) so I'll be voting for him.

I get what you’re saying but it’s a different kind of incoherence.
Trump says nutty things for sure all the time. Nobody’s denying that!
When Biden speaks or gives interviews recently, he’s unable to remember basic things, mixes things up, stumbles on his words, etc. It’s very noticeable but it seems that it’s hardly mentioned. How can he debate? I do hope he’s been checked medically. I guess we’ll see what happens.

It will never be mentioned anywhere except Fox News sadly.

I watched cnn the other day and they spent a good 20 minutes bashing Trump bc he said the Spanish flu was is 1917 and the ww2 reference. Yet when Biden says over a million people died from covid there was crickets from them. When he says racist things they don’t even mention it.

My favorite was don lemon last night, I gave up trying to hear his opinion on Harris bc all he mentioned was she was a black woman and i just couldn’t waste anymore time trying to hear more about her. That’s all they seem to focus on, she’s a black woman....nothing about accomplishments. I want to learn more about her but it’s buried underneath her skin color and gender. It’s so hard to watch cnn these days.

Joe Biden said one million people died and immediately corrected himself in the same sentence. Trump said the pandemic of 1917 ended World War 2 - I haven't seen him say that he misspoke.

And people were talking about Kamala Harris race and gender because it is sadly the FIRST TIME that a woman of color has been on a major party ticket. It is historic so yes people will talk about it on the first day she is chosen. What's wrong with celebrating that a woman of color was chosen for the first time?

There is nothing wrong with it, the way they present it makes it LOOK like they are trying to get votes from women and poc. This woman, who I am currently learning about, probably has so many accomplishments and all cnn talked about last night was her gender and skin color.

I’m currently voting for trump. BUT I was interested to see Biden’s vp pick bc I feel as tho that is who you are really voting for and it could sway me. I’m not a Trump lover by any means but between him and Biden I choose trump. Biden’s vp pick can sway many people like me....but all I got last night is she is a woman of color.

Same. I was determining my vote also on his VP.
You didn’t also get she has slept her way up to the top? That has been old news.

I am disappointed in Biden's "rationale" for VP pick - I feel like he didn't care who it was as long as it was a woman of color. On a superficial level, that doesn't sit well with me. What happened to picking the best person for the job? Or were the only parameters were the best woman of color for the job?

I am hoping to find out more about her in the coming weeks and months so I can make a more educated decision.

Why isn't she the best person for the job?
She is more than qualified, incredibly smart, she has a good relationship with Biden (she was good friends with his late son). As a senator she is experienced in legislating. Sounds pretty good to me.

She has way more experience and would be a hell of a better president than the current occupant of the White House.

I didn't say she wasn't the best person for the job. I said his rationale for picking a VP candidate was skewed. He was intent on picking a woman of color for the job. We would all be up in arms if he said he would only pick a white man for the job, wouldn't we?

I said I didn't know much about her. She may very well end up to be the perfect VP candidate. I didn't like that he narrowed the field to only women of color. That is all.

Be careful there. I said the same thing as was told I was a racist. I guess they just didn’t believe me that it was a given he would pick a woman of color as I am not very smart. Chat Icon

This is ridiculous. Aren't you embarrassed about spreading lies that you have no idea what they're even about? Where's your proof? And don't post a link from some crazy conspiracy website. It would need to be a credible and sourced organization.

The problem with debating Trump is it's a waste of time... it's not truthful factual information . He's nothing but a proven liar. what's the point? what will get accomplished ? More of his propaganda to his base?

What on earth is wrong with you? You are so triggered by a successful black woman that you go around and smear her with some misogynistic bulls*t.

Its honestly sad that you believe whatever lies conservative blogs spew at you and repeat misogynistic BS.

Re: The elephant in the room re: Biden

Like minded people: Don't bother.

If people voted for him 4 years ago then whatever, it's a done deal and maybe they feel differently now.

Live and learn.

But now? If over the past three and half years people haven't been sufficiently repelled by something, ANYTHING - the literally thousands of lies, the stupidity, the corruption, the cruelty, the pandering to the rich, the gutting of our public institutions, the pettiness, the dismissed bounty on US troops, the racism/sexism/xenophobia, etc., then there is simply nothing to be said. Nothing to discuss.

It's America or Trump.

We can't have both.

What about him? He was in the CA State Assembly and separated from his wife. He dated Kamala during this time but they broke up. It wasn't a secret affair. Are people in the State Assembly not allowed to date people if they're separated? Are women prosecutors not allowed to date men that are separated from their wives? How in the world does this equate to her "sleeping her way to the top"?

Uhhhh, that’s what I was beginning to do. She was announced so I started flipping thru all the channels to see what everyone was saying. I usually take a couple mental notes and than research. I was simply commenting that the media spent a good portion of their time on her gender and skin color.

I’m not looking for a president or administration that has a great personality and polished...I’m looking for someone who is going to Promote the things that are important to me. My family tends to do better under republicans simply because of the industry we are in. That is why I lean that way. Extreme left severely affects MY family.

No one has known who she was before yesterday? No one watched her before this? Not the debates to clinch the nomination? Not at the Kavanaugh trials? Nothing else with her?

What was wrong with her during the debates? The whole point of debates is to get your platform out there and prove why you’re a better candidate than the others. I think she presented herself well.

And I’ve also seen clips during hearings where she gets to the heart of matters when dummies are trying to play off the crap they’ve done. I don’t have an issue with that either.

Just asking as it sounds like many haven’t heard of her very much before now.

Anyone who follows politics knows about KH and all major players.

But suddenly she has a morality test to pass? You stated she “slept her way to the top.” Suddenly we are supposed to care about that stuff?

Trump cheated on his 3rd wife with a porn star while Melania was pregnant and had to pay her off. He bragged on tape about sexually assaulting women to try to impress Billy Bush. Has numerous sexual assault and rape allegations. I heard and read from his supporters, “I don’t care what he does or says. I like how he says what he means. I don’t care what he’s done in his personal life.” The followers of the right set this low bar by giving him a pass for this stuff. No Trump supporters believed the 20+ women who accused Trump, but let’s listen to the musings of KH’s ex. Absurd.

At least she wasn’t caught on tape joking about sexually assaulting men and grabbing d!***.... like our sitting “president” has.

I don’t care what she may have done to get where she is, which I don’t even buy. It’s just yet another way to cut down any woman who is qualified and successful.

How is your post not about politics?

Just admit you are a racist and want to vote for Trump who will do anything to make the white man richer. He is willing to destroy the earth and Americans lives.

Nothing else matters - get rid of Trump.

I would rather vote for my 7 year old than Trump. She is kind and not racist. She also knows it’s wrong for Bezos and corporations to be paying less and less in taxes while millions of people are unemployed and soon to be homeless.

My post states literally NOTHING about Biden’s (or Trump’s) politics at all— Can you read??

Those of you who are ignoring the fact that we have a presidential candidate who, when he speaks, it is CLEAR there is a medical cognitive issue — whether it be strokes, Alzheimer’s, brain tumor, something is very wrong— and stated that you have zero worries about it & are actually ok with it.... then you’re dumber than Trump!

And what if we are concerned? Do you think it's better for us to stay home or to vote for Trump? Biden was NEVER my choice, but we're stuck with him, and I'll vote for him to get Trump out of office.

I guess a worst case scenario where Biden dies, at least a smart person would be next in line.

Nope everything you said is valid.
I’m referring to those who can’t even admit that it’s true, deny it as some propaganda from Fox News, or who call me a racist for bringing it up. (See comments above.)

There is clearly a mental and cognitive issue with Donald Trump.

Do you have any worries about that? There are many, many, many examples of him slurring speech, calling people wrong names, can't pronounce things, speaks nonsensically, etc, etc.

YES!!! Absolutely.
With Trump’s mental issues everyone is willing to admit it, talk about it, make fun of him, etc.
With Biden his mental issue is like this dirty secret no one on the left wants brought up or talked about, or they flat out deny (again.. see comments above calling me a racist for bringing it up & claiming it’s Fox News propaganda).
