Re: The elephant in the room re: Biden
Telling someone "you don't deserve to live" on social media is exactly the kind of thing that teenagers and young adults are committing suicide over.
Words matter and they can hurt.
I can't believe I just read what I read

Very interesting how you all cherry pick.
And telling me my BF is unstable, I hate the US is abuse and bullying.
So fboff with your all you don’t deserve to live comment.
And most info is easy to find on FB.
Being told I shouldn’t vote was over the top. And I’m mainly directing this at one person.
VB has listed her school district and one has to do is call and mention that about her daughter. The daughter should be respected of her privacy.
Do you really, truly put any of those things in the same category as saying “you don’t deserve to live?”
And even though I believe you know exactly what you’re doing, someone should tell you that every time you mention her daughter in this thread it has the feel of a very subtle threat. I would cease all mention of her children if I were you.

I couldn’t agree more! Everyone knows how harsh that poster can be but what she said to the other poster about her not deserving to live was sickening and disgusting! And the other posters making what she said lighter made me... . Saying someone doesn’t deserve to live is under NO circumstances acceptable, ever! And no one should make excuses for it.

Posted by Diane Don't you know by now, if you say anything nice about the president on here you are racist I better go loosen my hat.
I didn’t comment at all about the current president and the person jumped right to “you’re a racist!” for questioning Biden’s mental clarity & ability to debate
Well I am a racist and need a muzzle. Nice crowd of ladies on this board, right?
You really do need a muzzle. It’s a shame you had to say as an American I cannot vote because of where I live. I HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO VOTE. So F you.
Or do you want to talk more about how your daughter lost her virginity at 15? I don’t care what age she lost it at, but maybe you should keep her privacy in mind. But you just don’t care.
You just care about yourself. Selfish female dog that does need a muzzle.
I’m ashamed that you are even an American and I pay taxes for your Karen a$$. You don’t deserve to live.
You don’t deserve to live.
EXCUSE.ME??????????? You have REALLY gone over the edge now.
Wow. I think that may have been the worst nastiness I have seen on LIF in the history of ever.
I am truly not happy right now and the administrators really need to look into this. There is NO reason ANYONE should tell ANYONE that they don't deserve to live. This woman has gone off the edge between telling all of us we are horrible parents and now telling me I don't deserve to live is just too much.
Report the thread. She's clearly unstable.
Thank you. Nothing really bothers me honestly and nothing really shocks me in life anymore but that was totally uncalled for.
Totally uncalled for. Actually shocked me.
It is a shocking and disgusting thing to say to someone... but I’m not surprised it was said by that poster. She clearly does not have a rational mindset.
I've been on these boards a long time and that's one of the nastiest comments I've ever seen..by an adult nonetheless. Disgusting but I'm not surprised considering the poster...she clearly has anger issues.

What does that have to do with anything though? Telling someone they don't deserve to live REGARDLESS of your view of them is wrong. I can't believe people are trying to justify what she said.

Re: The elephant in the room re: Biden
Back to the original point of this post....
Exact quote from Biden yesterday in Pittsburgh in response to a question about Covid....
“Covid has taken this year, just in the outbreak, has taken more than a hundred year look, here’s the lives, it’s just, it’s er- I mean, y’think about it. More lives this year than any other year for the past hundred years.”
What?!?! Watch the clip on CNN. It is so sad how confused he is.
Still think I’m exaggerating the problem? I would rather have some self-respect and not vote at all than to cast my vote for someone who clearly has dementia or Alzheimer’s, is getting no medical help from anyone, and is being taken advantage of by the Democratic Party. He’s the best they could do?!?!
And if you’re excited for Kamala to make Pence look dumb.... please... give me a break... who cares about the VP debate?! Did anyone care what Cheney had to say? No. The presidential debate is what the country wants to see.
ETA..... Hoping for responses that do something other than just attack Trump as the basis of your response without acknowledging the points made above....

The elephant in the room re: Biden
You know, normally I would have agreed, but after learning that he stutters, I’m guessing most of his stumbling is because of that and not a mental disorder.

Re: The elephant in the room re: Biden
Other than agreeing with you, what response are you looking for?
You can pull thousands of moments and speeches when Trump made no sense but you aren’t open to that point of view. You can also pull thousands examples of his lies and intentional abhorrent behavior (inciting violence, racism, degrading women, the disabled, etc).
I am morally opposed to the way the republican leaders of our country are conducting themselves personally as well as the policies they have enacted. I believe the US has been a disaster in the lack of a coordinated and fact based approach to corona virus. I am beyond disgusted with the attempts by the republicans to interfere with free elections which I believe is the fundamental thing that makes us American.
So I will vote for Biden. Even if he stutters. Even if he’s confused.

VP debate matters because Biden is quite old. I almost feel as if I'm voting for her for president. As far as confusion, BOTH Trump and Biden should probably pack it up then due to their stumbles in speech. A direct quote from Trump just a few days ago: "But so I think, I think it would be, I think it would be very, very, I think we'd have a very, very solid, we would continue what we're doing, we'd solidify what we've done, and we have other things on our plate that we want to get done."
That is just one of the many jumbled quotes from Trump. To focus on Biden and not Trump isn't a fair assessment. Neither are as cognitively sharp as a younger candidate would have been. I hate ageism, but it's true.

What is there to debate? Honest question - what is Trumps platform as it relates to policy and plans for what he wants to achieve in the next 4 years?
In 2016, he wanted to build a wall, repeal Obamacare, and lower taxes for the wealthy. At least these items could be debated.
What are his ideas or plans? All I’ve heard is him bashing Obama/Biden or tooting his own horn for his “accomplishments”. How could these things be debated other than the current back and forth mud slinging that is already happening?
Sad. I’d love to return to civil political debate and dialogue that met the needs of the majority of Americans and identified compromises.

Obviously there are questions to be answered by both candidates so a debate should happen. Has there ever been a time where a debate has not happened? Why would this time be any different? Because ppl don’t like Trump so he won’t be allowed to talk in a debate? Kinda like what some news channels do (don’t televise his presidential conferences)? I am not in favor of Biden or Trump and I am still looking forward to a debate...

Of course a presidential debate should happen! Dems will pretend it’s not necessary or some nonsense (Pelosi already made some comment that she doesn’t think Biden & Trump need to debate) because obviously they can’t allow Biden to try to answer questions on a stage and show that he is an elderly man with dementia and is being used by the party as their best ticket to winning back the presidency (how pathetic) & trying to pretend he is in any way fit for the job at this time. It’s disgusting! Talk about corruption in a party. The same people harping on how corrupt Trump is will go right along with the Democrat’s deception by voting for an elderly man with dementia who they know should instead be taken care of, not be assigned the huge & serious task of becoming President. Party of hypocrites! They’ll talk about how important the role of the presidency is and then at the same time vote for a poor Alzheimer’s patient who doesn’t even know what’s going on... and then act like they’re on higher moral ground than a Trump voter. Sure you are. Vote for neither then.

What is the republican platform as it relates to political policy?
It’s not a debate if both sides are just bashing each other. I hope we don’t do that, it makes both sides look bad.

Ask a Republican. Hopefully we will find out the answer to what the platform is for both parties at the presidential debate.... scheduled for Sept 29, Oct 15, and Oct 22.

Re: The elephant in the room re: Biden
This thread is 4 months old but I’m going in, and asking the OP...what is your opinion today? Election is over and Trump is MIA as far as his temporary duty (19days left) as President besides his asinine tweets. I’m going to address the call of “you being a racist”. We all watched the first debate and Trump wouldn’t denounce racism or the Proud Boys when called to do so. If you support a person who supports bigotry and racism what does that make you? While you decide whether to respond let me give you a bit of history on Donald J. Trump. His casinos could not have African Americans working the floors of the casinos. He and his father would not rent apartments in the buildings they owned if you were a person of color. This country has always had racist people living amongst us, but Donald J. Trump pushed them to the forefront by not condoning over the course of 4 years as President. Point Blank Period.

I am sure you will get crickets on this. Love how he said Harris is the president elect the other day. He will never be allowed to do random questioning and the best is when they have a chance to question him they ask him his favorite ice cream. If they asked Trump that they would attack his choice whatever it was.
