His casinos could not have African Americans working the floors of the casinos. He and his father would not rent apartments in the buildings they owned if you were a person of color.

Interesting, I’ve never heard/read anything about this. Do u mind sharing sources? I gotta say...I’ve only heard Trump being a racist during his presidency, primarily a narrative by the Democrats. But looking back, I never heard this before, I mean even his actions (his life before presidency) have showed him as a non-racist person. Often surrounded by minorities either in a professional level or just while having a good time. To me, hearing him say he’s not a racist has less value than his actions throughout his life.

https://www.vox.com/2016/7/25/12270880/donald-trump-racist-racism-history

Wait, GoldenRod didn’t u call out Valentinesbaby for using right-wing sites? Vox is pretty leftist. I did read the whole article including its links that mainly brought me to other Vox articles. My thoughts...Trump def needs a filter before saying things. He needs more tact when speaking to others and he needs to become more aware of what comes out of his mouth but I do think they’re dissecting every single thing, and twisting it to fit their narrative. For example when they’re saying that supposedly Trump called Mexican immigrants criminals and rapists. He obviously didn’t mean to say that all Mexican immigrants are criminals and rapists, that’s just silly. A lot of illegal immigrants (Mexicans included) come to this country with the truest instentions to better themselves in honest, decent ways. But have no doubt that unfortunately there’s also a lot of scumbugs that take advantage of these people’s dispare and steal their money and whatever belongings they have, rape them, and do other barbaric things to them. The stories I’ve heard from some of these poor people have literally brought me to tears. Another example is when Trump called Wareen Pocahontas (how is that even clearly connected to The Trail Of Tears btw?), he didn’t mean it as racist offense against Native American tribes, he was making fun of Warren’s claims of being Native American. Two different things. 100% I do not agree with the way he addresses people but to say he’s actually racist when his actions prove otherwise is pushing it. Racial insensitivity is not the same as racism. Does Vox, TNYT, or any other site/publication that tends to be leftist have ever talked about the remarks and actions of Biden regarding race? Do u mind sharing those links too?

The Vox article was mainly to show a list of trump's own words and actions. As was posted later, there are plenty of the same lists. Listing his own racist words and actions isn't left-leaning.

Here's NPR's article on Biden's race relations over the years.
https://www.npr.org/2020/10/14/920385802/biden-vows-to-ease-racial-divisions-heres-his-record

Unlike trump supporters, I'll never claim that Biden is perfect. He wasn't my first choice during the Primaries. But he was "safe". He's too far right-wing for most Democrats, but he's a heck of a lot more left than trump is. He's a career politician, but right now, we need someone that was assured of beating trump (and with getting more than 7 million votes, and a *landslide* (using the phrasing from trump when he had the exact same Electoral College numbers 4 years ago) victory in the Electoral College, he did that easily...) and fixing as much of the damage as possible.

In four years, I hope there are a better variety of candidates, and I can vote for someone that can move the country forward. Right now, I just need someone that can fix the damage.

Yes Trump’s racial insensitive words are not left leaning but the twisting of his words to fit a narrative def is. Thank u for posting that NPR article. I’m glad they mentioned some of the remarks and actions of Biden. Although I did notice throughout the article that they didn’t give as much weight to some points and that instead they rushed to the next one. I’m also surprised they didn’t include other things he has mentioned like when he said integrating black students would turn schools into a jungle and “unless we do something about it, my children will grow up in a jungle”, or “if u have a problem figuring out whether u’re for me or for Trump, u ain’t black”, or “poor kids -meaning minorities- are just as bright and just as talented as white kids”, or “if my opponent wins, they’re going to put y’all back in chains”, or the several times he used the n word. But hey, I’m glad he was able to be VP of Obama, and now chose Kamala as his VP. Hopefully he has learned throughout his whole political career about the impact of words and actions. Would u say he’s a racist?

1977, not totally true, and misleading...
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2020/10/27/fact-check-post-partly-false-biden-1977-racial-jungle-remark/6045749002/

The chains comment was from 2012, and he did say it.

I don't know if he's racist or not. He has done a lot to improve himself, and the AA community.

Can you say the same about trump? Absolutely not.

Again, this topic is not about Biden, it's about how racist trump is, and I haven't seen any defense yet. Just a "no he's not".

I respond to all comments directed to me, but none of the trump supporters ever seem to answer my questions. It's always avoid, deflect, and redirect.

But that's fine. I know the truth, and the trump sheep all huddle together agreeing with each other in their fantasy world.

And with that statement, they'll read it and chuckle, naively thinking that *they* know the "truth"...

How is it measleding?

The difference is one or two words. This is how I quoted it:

“Unless we do something about it, my children will grow up in a jungle.”

This is his actual quote:

“Unless we do something about this, my children are going to grow up in a jungle.”

U don’t know if he’s a racist or not? Interesting considering u’re very adamant in believing Trump is a racist. My question/comment might not have originated with Biden but based on the accusations of trump being a racist, I proceeded to ask if the same logic should be applied to Biden and categorize him as a racist based on his comments and actions. I’m not sure if u’re inferring I’m a Trump supporter and his sheep but if u are, I can certainly tell u I am not, I’m not even a Republican. It seems that anyone that doesn’t agree with Trump being a racist is automatically his supporter and therefore a sheep. I don’t understand that logic and can’t do anything about it if that’s how people want to react. I know who I am and I know what my thoughts and beliefs are and won’t accept labels just because someone thinks she/he knows who I am. Maybe actual Trump supporters will provide u with the “defense” u’re expecting? But who knows if they will considering u call them sheep and that they live in a fantasy world...not so nice words.

The Trump supporters on this board won’t post anymore as they have been attacked by the clique in here and anything you say is a “deflect”.
I am sure we will have lots to talk about soon when Biden is in office as it will be interesting to see if the media is on top of him like they were Trump. I doubt it highly as the only unrehearsed thing I have seen is the question of what flavor ice cream he likes and even then he didn’t answer.
The naivety is immense when it comes to anyone thinking he can work this job fully by himself.
The majority of people only voted for him because they didn’t like Trump. They have no clue about anything he has done or plans to do. They know nothing about Harris who will take over for him when they decide it is time to kick him to the curb and they have used him enough to get what they wanted.

Just STFU already. You have little to almost no understanding of politics. Your comments on here are evidence of that. MANY people have explained to you time and time again WHY they dislike Trump, WHY they didn't vote for him, WHAT policies they don't agree with and they have even linked you to resources to support their rationale. But you don't read and you don't care because you just like to hear yourself talk. You carry on in this forum as if you're an expert on literally everything from medicine to COVID to politics to the economy. Talk about naive, you don't even realize that most everyone on here thinks you're a joke.

So since you're such the political analyst please, why don't you enlighten everyone on here about Biden and Harris and their policies and political life since we all seem to know nothing. Oh wait, you can't. Why? Because you literally don't know what in the actual f@$k you are EVER talking about.

Stop hijacking every thread with your rampant stupidity. Chat Icon

I have a problem with what you posted.

Why did you edit your post? I saw that you told me to STFU. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Decided to be a little nicer. But if you would STFU, that would be super awesome.

Your comments never fail to demonstrate what a complete moron you are.

So back to politics, since you are the expert I am still waiting for you to teach us all about Biden and Harris, their policies, their positions on relevant matters and how they will run the country the next 4 years.

I am waiting.

Or will you waste all of our time again with your deflections of the topic at hand because you're nothing more than a dimwitted little woman who is unhappy and insecure in her own life so she obsesses over strangers on a news forum?

If a public person doesn't do or say anything overtly racist, that may mean they know enough to not do or say anything racist. He grew up in a very racist time.
I don't know what he really thinks. For me to claim that I know what Biden is thinking isn't true. However, when someone's actions and words are consistently and recently racist, that's proof that they are racist.

A claim, a thought, an observation...anything. I’m a bit disappointed u couldn’t come up with a concise answer about Biden when looking at all his actions/words and by applying ur own logic of what a racist person is (or is not). But I get it, sometimes it easier (and safer) to come up with an ‘I don’t know” instead of a yes or no answer. And growing up in a racist time should not give anyone -especially a politician who is supposed to fight for our welfare- a pass.

As far as I’m concerned, this is a public forum so anybody can post in whatever thread they want...including u, regardless of what some people are telling u about ‘nobody wanting u here’ and regardless of all the other utterly sickening things they’re saying to u. Words are powerful but if u let them have an effect on u, u’re the one that’s actually giving them that power. Good for u for brushing off all the ugly things said to u.

As a “non-racist person”? Are you kidding me? Do you not recall at one of his rallies “There’s my black”(the one person of color that attended). The entire Birther Movement is racist which was started by him. Do you know what the Birther Movement even is? Your statement is equivalent to the “I’m not racist, because I have 2 black friends”. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/jan/12/racism-and-donald-trump-a-common-thread-throughout-his-career-and-life

I've given you answers, but you didn't bother reading them.

I posted a link with details about how he was in civil rights protests, being involved in the AA community throughout his career, selecting Kamala as his running mate. He was 2nd fiddle to an AA President.

His actions are definitely not that of a racist.

I get that it's easier for you to deflect, and never answer any of my questions, but I do give answers.

And I never gave him a pass for growing up in a racist time. You read into that for your convenience. I stated a fact. He did grow up in a different time, but he STILL chose Kamala as his VP.

You can cherry pick his comments over the years and find some things that aren't great, but that is tremendously different than someone who retweets a video of someone saying "White Power!", or someone saying to White Supremacists to "Stand By", or saying there are "good people" in a group of KKK.

How is that anywhere remotely close to "not racist"?

Exactly. Hofstra keeps telling VB to "shut up, you don't know anything " but she doesn't know anymore then anyone else here. She wouldn't be saying that if there was no truth to what VB is saying. The H in her name does not stand for Harvard.
