The garbage men just
left me a note that said my pails are to large....and another to say I'm not allowed to lock the lid to the pail w/the handles??? has this happened to anyone else?? we just bought these pails over the weekend b/c animals are knocking over the pails and going through the garbage....the handles just lift to secure the lid...they aren't locked??

That is ridiculous. So will they not pick up your garbage if you don't comply with their requests? I would call the town.

This happened to us too. We weren't allowed to have the big 45 gallon pails because it's regulated by the town. We returned our pails to Home Depot without a problem and got the smaller ones. We never put our lids on when we put them out because we don't want to lose them when the garbage men fling them all over the place.

oh wow I was looking at them sunday LOL
I was like theres no way our garbage men would pick them up  back to the drawing board.

Wow. Are you town sanitation? We have a private company and they send us a flyer each year reminding us that the cans can be no bigger than such a size (I forget), but no mention of locking. We do that with ours and never a problem.

We had the same problem. Plus ours can't be over a certain weight.
We had a HUGE Orange sticker on our garbage cans. It was soo embarassing. We had to buy new ones

We can't have over 39 gallons. They didn't even leave a note, they just didn't empty it with the rest
never heard about the locking, but we get a calendar that has all the regulations in it - the library has them too.
