The light at the end of the tunnel...
is fast approaching!
My father moves to his new place in just over two weeks! I cannot BELIEVE he has been living with us now for about 10 months.
Now, of course, MIL is flying in for 3 weeks the day after he moves out, but I think it will be a nice change. After all, instead of ME cooking my father's meals, driving him to dialysis and doing his laundry, she'll be the one pampering us, with some uber-delicious home-cooked meals, some shopping and some much-needed babysitting
I know the reality is that my responsibility for my father isn't magically dissipating the second he moves. But, it will be nice to have some modicum of privacy and intimacy in my lfe again

You're a saint, dear! Will you still have to drive your father to dialysis once he moves??
Enjoy the "uber-deliciious home cooked meals"!

Nope! He's moving his dialysis center downtown, and his new building has a shuttle that can take him

Glad everything is working out.
I hope you get some well-deserved pampering & lots of privacy in the future! Don't let your neighbor move in!

that is great news! congrats, you have done so much for your dad, and sacrificed so much privacy/time with your DH and DD. Enjoy reconnecting to them now, I hope this means a new and less stressful chapter of your life is beginning!

So glad that things are going to get a bit easier for you. You really deserve it. BTW enjoy all that cooking and babysitting. Someone else cooking and babysitting always improves my mood.

Re: The light at the end of the tunnel...
It's great you in higher spirits these days. You certainly deserve some pampering regardless if its your MIL that's providing it.
I hope the transition for your father goes smoothly and the light at the end of the tunnel shines brighter with each passing day.
