The midwife couldn't hear a heartbeat today: UPDATE!! All is good!
I am so worried. She was unable to hear the heartbeat after using 2 different doppler machines.
So I have an appointment today at 4 for a sonogram to make sure everything is okay.
I already miscarried once. Last year. I conceived this year within days of when I conceived last year. Please god don't let this pregnancy end the same way. Please.
UPDATE: Thank you all so much. Your stories really calmed and by the time I went to the appointment I was pretty sure all was okay.
Well, I went for the sono and there was baby.. dancing away. I can't even tell you how good that was to see. Baby even picked up it's arm and waved at me. He was boucing all over. Kind of like he (or she) had the hiccups.
Lets see if I can post the picture I got. We tried to capture it when Baby was waving.

how far along are you? Sometimes it's hard to pick up the heartbeat with the doppler until you are around 13-14 weeks.
I am about 10 1/2 weeks. She did say that I could be too early. Since I was seeing an RE I already had 4 sonos and saw the heartbeat at 5 1/2 weeks. Everything looked so great. Now I am so scared. I know someone at work who just miscarried at 10 weeks and I am so so nervous.

At 10 weeks, my OB did not even try to listen to the HB. Even when I went for my 14 week appointment, she warned me we may not hear it.
Umm personal question but are you really skinny? If not it isn't unusual for them not to hear a heartbeat for a while. Some people don't hear the heartbeat externally until 10-12 weeks and even much later than that!
I will say prayers that your sono goes well today.

I'm not really skinny but kind of average. I am 10 1/2 weeks so I fall into that range of when she should hear it.
Even being in that early range it's still hard sometimes to pick up the heartbeat. I was about 11 or 12 weeks when we were able to hear his HB on the doppler.
Tricia - our due dates are one day apart. I went to the Dr. on Tuesday and she said she won't even try to hear the heartbeat because sometimes it's difficult to find and she didn't want to drive me crazy. I know your baby is okay.
I rented a doppler at about 13wks and in the beginning had a lot of difficulty finding my little girl's heartbeat. You are still very early - hoping and praying for you that everything is OK!!!
Tricia it is to hard to hear a hb at 10.5wks....your internal tonight will show a strong healthy baby...You'll be fine...My doc won't even try for a doppler hb until 12-14wks and even then they make no promises
