Is the coffee place still open in Cross bay? the one that has the yummy Tiramisu?

Don't know which one you mean!

There was one really good bakery that either closed or moved on Crossbay, now Heavenly Florist is there

I wish I could remember the name. It was close to the diner. It has been so long since I hung out there...I usually now just go back & forth to my friend's house.

It was a bakery that had little tables in it & had these great little "cups" of Tiramisu. They had good espresso too.

QUOTE] if you look at the per capita ratio, it's not quite on par. there is a reason why it costs $3000 to insure your car there vs. $1K on LI

well I live in bay terrace which is a "nice part" of queens and my car insurance would more then double from what I was paying at my dad's house in sufflok

from suffolk to nassau is a 20% jump

and from nassau to queens is about another 20 to 30% regardless of the neighborhood

this is true... but there is a lot more car theft in the area, hence higher premiums. my sis lives in Kew Gardens and her insurance agent told her to keep her legal address where it was (Nassau) becuase her rates would triple.

More theft in the city as a whole.

You are always going to have more crime in the city than in the suburbs. It doesn't make it a bad area, or make it ok for people who live in the 'burbs to make judgements

didn't you start this thread? Chat Icon I didn't realize a "debate" was to only talk about the pros.

I lived in Ozone Park for 23 years. Ate at Marios a few times. My favorite Pizzerias in the Ozone Park/Howard Beach and Glendale area are...
La Villa, New Park, Rosa's (the one on Metro) and Romeos.

It's the difference between living in a city and living in a suburb.

We make it up though, our property taxes are MUCH lower

but you also have to pay city tax out of your paycheck- which every pays - not just property owners

I could've walked there. DH went there and was there in 5 minutes. I went to Lewis and had to take 2 buses just to get back and forth to school... It would take and hour each way!
