I didn't read that article but I am very well informed about commercial pet food, which is why I refuse to feed it to my cats and started making my own food.

I used to make my own cat food because of this. Cats especially are more at risk because they are pure carnivores and most commercial cat food is mostly grain.

I feed Innova Evo dry food, and for wet mine love the Wellness pouches. I also feed them the Merrick cans, and my own homemade ‘wet food’ but they love the Wellness pouches so much more than anything else.

maybe I will try the wellness pouches!

thanks

Where are you in Suffolk? Pet Supplies Plus stores usually carry some high end
ETA: I just reread one of your posts. Is Nature's Organic small dry food? I don't want the pieces too big for my baby Leo!

My Pup is 8 pounds. The food is little nibbles so it should be fine Chat Icon

Thanks! Does it smell at all like fish? Do you know where I can get a sample to see if my dog eats it? Chat Icon

Fish? No way, it actually smells pretty good. No strong smells at all. Not sure about samples, but if you go on the website and put in your zip code, it will tell you where the closest store is that sells it. I know it comes in 4 different size bags, so get the smaller one and see (This is what I did at first). It's a little on the expensive side, but soooo worth it.

Most any smaller pet store carries high end food. Supermarkets & Petco generally don't.

Uh oh....in your opinion, does that mean that the Pet Promise isn't as good as I thought for my kitty?

Jack eats 90% food we make for him.
He is exactly the right body weight & although he's about to turn 7 he looks & acts like a young dog. Even the vet techs always ask if he's a puppy. Of course the Vet's will tell me feeding him 90% people food is bad, right after they tell me he is in perfect health.

I'm going with the Core when I puppy turns 1. I like the idea of no grain in her food.

Yes petfooddirect has great sales.

that article was so eye-opening! Chat Icon i immediately went to the pet food direct website and am ordering innova evo and merrick. i am going to try to find the wellness pouches in the pet store, so i can see if they like them first.

i recently starting giving my 2 kitties the pet naturals of vermont hairball prevention treats. i listed the ingredients below. does anyone know if these look ok??

Ingredients:
Omega 6 fatty acids, soy lecithin, psyllium powder omega 3 fatty acids, cranberry extract, zinc, biotin, brewers yeast, chicken liver flavor, flax seed oil, glycerin, natural mixed tocopherols, propionic acid, safflower seed oil, Sursweet, whey
