I was going to post this! They were by King Kullen in Selden and my mom saw them around 3 and I saw them at 6 in the same spot. Kids and all.

I don't think they can stay on top of it, to be honest. There are so many and they keep moving. It bothers me to the core to see kids right near traffic. To the core. The only way it will end is if no one gives a dime. Funny how they don't need money in the winter, huh.

It would probably be helpful if Newsday and News12 ran stories exposing the scam. Of course not everyone would see it but I'm sure it would significantly cut back on business for them. This makes me so mad, especially since I almost fell victim to them last year.

A number of times last year I saw a man, woman and two little kids at two different shopping centers in Oceanside, I had no idea (although I did think something wasn't right) that this was something people really did!

We saw a man, woman and small child at Costco in Holbrook last night. A few people had stopped and gave them money. I felt bad but I don't know what to think.

I know that this is not going to be a popular opinion, but what's the point of rehashing this all over again? If you don't like what they are doing, call the police or don't give them anything. I don't think they are outright harming anyone or anything. Am I missing something about this story?

I totally get what you're saying. I personally think they are harming those babies & little kids they have with them all the time. In the summer, they are sitting out in the blazing hot sun, even the "baby" (could be a doll, could not be) in the baby carrier is just baking. The many times I've seen them, I never see them with water. It just breaks my heart for the kids, because they're essentially used as bait.

OK that I can understand. I have only seen the panhandlers a few times, and I never noticed any kids as part of the scam. It's so obviously a scam, I'm surprised it hasn't been cracked down on yet.

The girl at 106/107 junction, wears Ugg boots and a fur jacket. She was dressed up really nice! Today I saw a family at Walmart on 110.

Last fall, a couple and their baby were standing outside my church after Mass. Had a sign and everything. I told them they could go to the rectory and tjey could help them, that they have a food pantry and baby supplies. They were adamant in telling that the church told them they wouldnt help them. I thought that was very strange. I really think they were just trying get money out of people. And rude to me when i tried to help. Strange.
