BECCO! 46th Street (I think it's between 7th and 8th.. don't remember exactly)
great restaurant. owned by Lidia Bastianich a well-known Northern Italian chef. the pasta is homemade on the premises.

Re: theater district restaurants-any recs?
I would second Becco. Carmine's and Tony DiNapoli are also always good bets. I also like:
Osteria al Doge 44th St. b/w 6th and Bdwy
Fresco by Scotto 52nd St b/w Madison and Park (a little far maybe)

2nd Becco- great pre-theater place.
Also love Marseilles - have been there a few times before a show.

My fav steakhouse is Ben Benson's..

Bobby Flay's Bar Americain is right across the street from Ben's- been there a few times and love it.

A little more uptown, but great food as well..
