Thermascan Temporal Artery Thermometer
Has anyone else found this thing completely inaccurate??? So glad I did research before I registered for it  I took Tori's temp with it yesterday(battery was good) and it read 99, she felt too warm for 99 so I retook it rectally only to find she had 103.5!!My poor baby  Another waste of money....

yep, I thought this was the coolest thing and got it. It stinks. The best thermometer is a digital Vicks one I got at CVS for like 10 bucks.

Temperals really are not acurate. I thought that would have improved since I worked in pediatric office (11 years ago) but nope they are awful. Next to rectal under the armpit and mouth are the most acurate.

yeah and every time you scan you get a different temp.  i use it and if it's questionable whether he may have a fever then i use the rectal to verify.
