these buy/sell groups are funny....
do people really think they are going to get almost what they paid for an item when its used?
or people selling BROKEN items?! Lights and sounds dont work and the stickers are missing, oh and a little bit of marker on it.....but i want $40 for this item i originally paid $50 for?!?!
im just venting since i was so excited to pick up an item from someone who said they live in a pet free/smoke free home....yea i got there and a friggin cat greets me at the door!
i sooo much prefer once upon a child now....there stuff is always in PERFECT condition

lol, people have crazy ideas about the quality of their stuff.... I have gotten some good deals on stuff i'd never pay full price for...
i got two dressers and a couch for free so im a happy camper

I belong to those groups but do find the prices to be too much like you said.
I was so bummed to have just missed out on a free sit and stand stroller the other day.

My fave is when they sell some odd little candle or toy for $1. Why bother? 
I have actually gotten some good deals on things on some boards though. $10 for the FP learning house. Glad I only paid $10 b/c by kids chewed the top sticker off the thing.

Its def a hit or miss but some stuff is on there for months bc its priced wrong & seller just doesn't get it.
One time I went to p/up infant seat & it was filthy!! Crust & stained...i mean c'mon clean it before you sell it. I told tbe ding bat that Im not putting my baby in that sorry. She got pissed bc she had to drive & meet me...lol..I think I laughed @ her.

these buy/sell groups are funny....
But then you have the flip side when your a seller and someone asks you to meetup with them for a $5 item... Or really tries to low ball you... Or just plain ignores your fms and texts and disappears off the face of the earth instead of just contacting you to say they are no longer interested... It's insulting, annoying, and so very rude! I've dealt with good and not so good people... But that's life I guess!

I do ok selling stuff, but I under price everything bc I just want it gone. So my items always sell for like 5-10$.
I only ever bought 1 thing, a Little Tykes toybox that was in excellent condition and was 1/2 the price of new.
I laugh at the people who try to sell anything that's broken or missing pieces! I would only sell things in perfect condition. If its not perfect, give it away for free!

I'm amazed by people who sell items that someone else could purchase brand new elsewhere for around the same price.
Also people who sell older, outdated furniture for an obscene price.

I always felt that the people who bought items from those swap boards were not really savvy shoppers. I get brand new Gymboree, Carters, Old Navy, Crazy 8 and Childrens Place shirts for $2-3 and pants for $3-5 at the end of the season and buy one size larger than what my kids wear. I use the 20% off coupon and combine it with the sale price. After my kids wear the items then I give them to friends or donate them to the VA or Big Brothers Big Sisters. I have friends that swap clothing with me too.

Where are these buy/sell groups? I would love to try to find a gently used train table. I can't find one that doesn't come with all the tracks which my son has plenty of. I just need the table so I'm sure someone somewhere would love to get rid of one.

THIS! I give away for free or throw out anything that isn't in "like new" condition. I make sure everything is in good condition, has all of the pieces, i am smoke free/pet free, and I even keep all of the original paperwork that goes with the toys or appliance. I would never, never sell anything that appears used or is missing pieces/broken. What a joke!

Hey....just an FYI....Target has a crazy sale in January.... last year Scott and I got a CIRCO train table (just the table, not the trains) originally $119.00 for $19.90.... It was really nice until Brody used it as a trampoline and went through the drawer!!

me too! I donate pretty much everything! I belong to to 2 groups on fb and can't stand it. I have to log on and remove myself. People really are strange they want so much money for used stuff.
