They released our budget....

NO COL increase
NO step increase
INCREASE in class size

ugh!

AND they're probably restructuring the bussing schedule so that my kids would start at 7:50, not 8:40 Chat Icon

At least I'll get out earlier so that I can start the second job I'm going to have to get Chat Icon

ETA: I am so greatful that I do have a job since I know that so many right now do not... I'm just frustrated because so many fluff programs are being kept at the expense of teacher's salaries.

Where do you work?? Long Island, NYC or elsewhere...no step increase..geez sounds like catholic school...we never had step increases or it was very rare

that stinks but look on the brighter side..you have a job!! sooo many people are gettin laid off... and if you enjoy your job that's all that matters...could u do tutorin or something on the side...could help you

It stinks- it's really a pay cut because you have to teach more kids. I'm waiting to see next year how NYC has been hit. I had 38 kids one year, during the "good" times. And it sucks that the kids have to suffer for the mistakes that adults made.
