Think it's time to be potty-trained? A funny story with advice needed please....
So Mads has been fully trained during the day for pee only. She refuses to go poop on the potty and will hold it until we put a diaper on her.
Until last week, I always put a diaper or pull-up on her for naps and overnight. She always pooped during her nap or overnight. Last week I said, "ENOUGH" and took away the diaper for naps. She's woken up dry but still refuses to poop on the potty. She'll even ASK for a diaper or pull-up so she can "go poo-poo."
A few days ago, I put her down for her nap (sans diaper) and left to go to the dentist. On the way home, DH called and asked why I'd put her in a pull-up?
That little stinker took off her shorts and underpants, went into the diaper drawer and got a friggin' pull-up, and put it on so she could POOP.
So rather than not understanding her body, we are clearly at a battle of wills over this. I have tried bribery, begging, explaining and it's not working.
DH wants to move to humiliation (calling her a baby, making her sit in her own poop, etc) but I'm just not comfortable with that. He wants to make her sit on the potty until she poops- but I just don't have TIME for that and it upsets her.
So, how'd you all cross the poo-poo hump?

i wish I knew.
DD will poop on the potty. and has done it more then a few times. so I know she understands. but she has been asking for a pull up to do poops in.
I'm not fighting her yet, because she will hold it in for almost 4 days before she goes.
I would put the pull ups where she can't get them.

omg how funny. she will do it in time, have you tried to bribe her. does she like stickers? you can make a poop chart and give her a sticker each time she goes

First, if it were me, I would get rid of the pull-ups all together. The son of a friend of mine needed to put them on until he was FIVE years old to poop. To each his own, but that is just NOT acceptable in my family. However, I don't agree with your DH either.
My younger one held it in for a few days, honestly. She was complaining, "Poopoo HUUUURTS!!!" I was feeding her prunes and such in the hopes of easing the situation; if it would have gone on a week, I would have called the doctor for advice. However, she ended up just biting the bullet one day and that's been that.

I know your frustrated, but good for her. You got a little smartie on your hands. I love that she was able to pull that off. I agree w/ moving the pull ups to where she can't reach them. Hang in there. She will give up eventually.
